UPDATE (as of 02/01/16) - The elevators have permits in them with dates that expired on 5/27/15. I'm not sure if that's why they continuously break down but I definitely think it needs to be looked into...
Below I stated that our neighbors(and friends) who referred us to Kelvin got stuck in the elevator for over two hours a couple months back... I received a response back from our complex saying it was caused by the power outage (which we understand) but that was not the point... The elevators should have an Emergency release and no one should ever be trapped in an elevator, regardless of a power outage. Even the firemen who showed up were surprised that they could not get into the elevator...
NOW RECENTLY our own roommates got stuck for about thirty minutes. It's just unacceptable. I don't even use the elevators anymore because I'm nervous they are unsafe. In the past couple weeks there were signs on the doors saying they were out of service for maintenance...
Also, living on the 2nd floor is difficult because we have people above us and below us. We don't hear much from the people below, but our neighbors upstairs always sound like a stampede and there is nothing we can do about it. I believe the building is just built cheaply so the floors, walls, etc are very thin.
Also, the jacuzzi is ice cold. Maybe I'm the blonde that doesn't know how to turn on the heater for it, but usually jacuzzi's are kept warm (at least from my past experience in renting).
I sound like a nagger so I'll talk about the POSITIVES: We love our new toilet they installed (ECO friendly) and we appreciate our spacious kitchen and Master bedroom. All appliances work great so no complaints there.

Past review: We like our house but are unhappy that our neighbors and friends got stuck in the elevator for over 2 hours the other night. The elevator was not properly equipped for them to escape.
The fire department arrived and tried their hardest to get them out but were unsuccessful. They didn't get out of the elevator until the power came back on.
So they sat in a dark elevator for 2 hours... Now we are afraid to take the elevator and take the stairs instead.
The elevators should be properly equipped for an emergency like this... What if the person inside were pregnant? Or even suffered from anxiety or claustrophobia? I have anxiety and claustrophobia and I would have had a mental break down. It's...
Read moreI live on the 3rd floor. It's nice but a bit too pricey considering the limited amenities (kitchen counter space, small gym w/no stairmaster).
If they raise the rent again, I will consider moving over to another apartment, like Main Street or The Residence off Kelvin; which are newer and offer better amenities (rooftop lounge, pool, large 24 hr gym on 1st floor, etc) for the price.
Pros: Overall quietness, location, and their friendly professional maintenance staff (Francisco U & Jose H.) are an asset to their property.
Cons: Neighbor's animals pee in the corridor to the elevator and it smells up the whole corridor. Owners aren't thoughtful enough to clean up after themselves. Front entrance feels like a back-door entrance to the elevator for guests. Gym is limited for your back, squats, cardio days. Gym has no stair-master. Strange concrete stains. HVAC dust issues. I had to invest in a HEPA-filter to stop my coughing. There is such thing as 'building sickness syndrome'. Business center used to have computers and printer in 2013. It has been empty and useless (as tenants we're paying extra for a useless room) since 2013. The property's architecture is weird. The old building needs to be torn down and rebuilt as its architecture wastes space on their grounds (small gym, no 'same floor' bathroom access for downstairs lounge area, no direct access from BBQ pit to tables in pool area, no direct access from clubhouse to pool area as door is weld shut). The kitchen is VERY SMALL for a 2 bedroom - not enough counter-space for cooking/prep work. The trees they planted at the front entrance gates, shed flowers and gross seeds, which stain the concrete and make the grounds look dirty for new...
Read moreI would give 0 start if possible. We scheduled a move out and booked the inspection. On the inspection day no one showed up. We both asked one day off on that Wednesday to just confirm the inspection going well. And 10 days later the leasing apartment send us a $866 bill. This already taken out of our deposit which is $475. That means they want to charge us $1300 for move out. We took a lot pictures and video's since no one showed up for inspection. The bills says there was a $700 carpet replacement fee. Based on the California law the landlord only charge replacement if there is seriously damage or the tenant has lived there for more than 10 years. We only live there for ONE year! And I there is no damage at all for the carpet. I felt like the leasing office just throw whatever they can to the tenant and take every single advantage they can. Especially for Asian or international students. I have rent apartment several different places before in Irvine, Torrance & Fullerton. I have never seen this before. PLEASE...
