If your a college student like myself itās great because of how quiet the community is but if you have neighbors upstairs who are constantly jumping, slamming doors, slamming the bathroom sliding door etc itās not so great. Iāve spoken with them and they said they would calm down but havenāt. You would think they have kids up there but itās nothing but grown adults. Itās aggravating because it occurs thru all hours of the day and night. And sometimes at night itās even worst from 10pm to about 3 in the morning. And when you have a newborn that wakes up to everything itās even worst! I wanted to put my tvs up on the wall but because of all the stomping or wte it is that they are doing up there Iāve decided not to because I donāt want to risk my televisions falling down. A few nights ago it was so horrible that it caused my sliding door in my living room to rattle. I called security but they never came out. Iām just tired and exhausted. And this has been nonstop since me and my children moved in May 3rd.
Update May 16, 2025
So far everything has been great from the people in the community, to the staff (leor, Sam, Steven and Oscar). Maintenance has been able to fulfill some of my request and also help me baby proof my home due to me having toddlers. Groundskeepers keep the property so beautiful and clean! Regardless of the small rocky start they have been on top of everything, even with helping me understand the conservative billing, which options are cheaper when paying etc. They also tell you the pros and cons of certain things that you would like to add to your home.
When coming from a slum lord (Barker Management) to dealing with complete professionals and people who have empathy and care about their tenants is truly refreshing! It allowed me to let my guard down somešā¤ļø

So before move in the have you complete an inspection form after they do there inspection and send you pictures. But once I did my inspection all I found so many things wrong. While everything visually looks good as far as the carpet, rooms being cleaned, bathrooms and the pantry. I noticed a lot of things while doing the move in inspection of the apartment home. The stove is lose and was painted I assume to cover up any damages from the previous tenant, the sliding door in the living room does not lock, the screen door on the sliding door is broke and doesnāt fully close all the way, in all three bedrooms thereās seems to be water damage around the windows with mold growing, in the master bedroom above the windows on the ceiling you can see yellow from the water leaking, in the first bedroom to your right the closet doors are hard to open, the shelves are lifting up, thereās damages in the hallways walls, spiders in the dining room ceiling and well in the master bedroom. The front door is hard to lock as well and there is some form of black puffy stuff forming around it. One of the drawers in the kitchen is not properly closing all the way either. I thoroughly went through the apartment home and took really good pictures. When you lift up the stove it is filthy on the inside as well. I hope that upon my moving out, that I am not going to be charged for these damages that are already here.
Update May 6, 2025*
After reporting everything to management, Leor helped me submit a maintenance request and they came out and fixed some of the issues. Iām truly appreciative with how fast they diligently work to get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLatest update regarding the parking situation: (I highly recommend household with 3+ cars read this update)
I am writing this update to share my disappointment with the parking situation at Park West. Each unit is assigned 2 parking permits only, and if you need an extra permit for a third car, you have to join a long waitlist. Unfortunately, this policy has created a frustrating situation for me and many other residents.
I live in a unit with three people, including myself. My roommates both have cars, and they take the two assigned permits. The only option left for me is to park on the street(Parkview Lane), which is overcrowded, especially in the evening. Sometimes, people get aggressive and confrontational while fighting for the few available spots. It's not a pleasant experience to come home after a long day and have to deal with that.
On the other hand, the open space parking lot, which requires a permit, often has many available spots, even late at night (see attached photo for evidence). Unfortunately, people cannot park there without a permit, and if they do, their cars will be towed at a cost of around $360 (I got towed 2 times and lost $700+ because I got nowhere to park), which is frustrating for those of us on the waitlist. As a result, if you don't have a permit and the street is full, you have to find another neighborhood(nearest one is 3 blocks away) in this area to park, which is not only inconvenient but also poses a safety risk.
I applied for a parking permit but was placed in a waitlist with more than 60 people ahead of me. Unfortunately, after almost a year, I have not received any update on my application status. This waitlist policy seems unfair and inefficient, as the open parking lot often has available spots that could be used by residents who need them.
Overall, the parking situation at this apartment community is disappointing and frustrating, and I hope the management will consider improving the policy to accommodate residents with multiple vehicles.
Original Review Regarding unsolvable noisy neighbor:
I regret to say that my experience living in Park West has been a negative one, largely due to the behavior of my noisy upstairs neighbor. The problem is that they play loud music all day long, and the sound penetrates the floor to my bedroom. Despite my attempts to address the issue by speaking with my neighbor, the noise level has not improved. I have also contacted the police department and security guard several times, but they have informed me that they cannot do anything because the noise cannot be heard from outside the unit. This is not acceptable, and I feel helpless and frustrated that I am unable to resolve this issue.
What is especially disappointing is the failure of the landlord to assist in resolving this problem. I have reached out to the community office, but no action has been taken to address the situation. As a result, I have had to endure constant noise levels that disrupt my ability to work and sleep.
It is frustrating to feel powerless in my own home and to be denied the basic right to a peaceful living environment. I hope that the landlord takes this issue seriously and works to ensure that residents are able to live without such disruptions in the future.
Overall, I would not recommend living in this area until the landlord takes appropriate action to address...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter three years of living in Park West, they definitely had this review coming. Pretty sure that I am not speaking out of line or exaggerating anywhere. Will try to work in bullet points to make is simple.
PROS: -Maintenance staff has always been friendly and fairly quick to respond to any issues submitted on the online portal. -Location is pretty great. Close to highways, shops, restaurants, LAX. -We have lived in two different units and they were clean. We liked having a fully equipped kitchen because that way you don't have to buy your own appliances and move them around every time.
CONS: -Do not expect a fancy new building. This one was built in the 80s and the only "upgrading" they do is apply layer upon layer of paint to mask true issues. Leaking pipes galore in the garage along with gates breaking down all the time. I have literally seen a car sitting on blocks in the garage because its rims were stolen (pretty sure there is a review of this on here too). Also know a previous tenant who got his locked motorbike stolen because the gate was broken. -My Equity Apartments is extremely corporate, so all they care about are occupation rates. They will sign literally anyone without properly screening them, just to fill the place up. Low quality scum for neighbors guaranteed. -Although this is a non-smoking community, a lot of people smoke cigarettes and weed in their units or on their balconies. After complaining, nothing is done by management other than them sending those people a friendly reminder email. Same goes for excessive noise complaints, even after calling the police numerous times they flat out refuse to get rid of a tenant that terrorizes the place as long as that person pays the bills (yeah, talking about you Dave, who films porn in his apartment and brings home numerous skanks at every hour of the night). -Security is a complete nightmare. Only one dude for the entire building. Does not answer the phone half the time you call. Barely speaks English so does not resolve anything. Better off calling the cops. But even then PW won't care much. -Elevators are super slow break down all the time and the stairs cannot be accessed from the outside in, only the other way around as fire exit. So be prepared to walk with all your groceries to the closest elevator and to wait 15 minutes while everyone else does the same. -Your rent will guaranteed go up each year by 5-10%. They only work with renewals, no extensions. So either you fork out more each year, or you find a cheaper apartment within the building and move to that unit. -Since this is a pet-friendly building, you will also have to deal with off-leash animals roaming around and pee/poo being left all over the place. A surprisingly high amount of people leave their dogs on the balcony for long amounts of time, so prepare yourself for constant yapping/barking. I once notified animal control about a yapping neighbor's dog once because of course management did not do anything about it. Owner received a harsh warning from animal control and all of a sudden magically she started correcting the dog when it barked.. -Last but not least, do not bother to clean up the apartment after moving out because they will charge you carpet cleaning, painting and additional cleaning fee regardless of the effort you put in.
Honestly glad we closed this chapter...
