Yard House — Restaurant in Irvine

Waited like an hour to be seated. Not a big deal it was busy but when we came to get our seats they were like “oh actually we don’t have seats for you guys” and sat us in high top chairs and then had to move us inside (we have a 1 year old and told us they don’t sit them in high top chairs). We all ordered our food with one waitress but then never saw her again. One person brought out my MIL’s food, then another 15-30 minutes later brought out my husbands. Another 30 passes and my food never came out... I went to the bathroom while my husband told them to just cancel the order and I saw what I ordered in the window sitting by itself far away from everything else and I wondered if maybe that was mine and just got forgotten about? When I came back from the bathroom I pointed it out to my husband (not knowing he canceled the order) and I was like well maybe they’ll tell us they already made it and I can eat it on the way home. But I could see the manager bring it to the back and do whatever with it. He couldn’t even come apologize or nothing. I would’ve waited but I was pregnant and getting really sick from not eating for such a long time. So while everyone had super yummy food I had fast food I waited hours to eat 🙄I was so excited too because I love yard house in ocean side. And we were excited to show our Mom this restaurant too but we were in Irvine not Oceanside...

Yard House now has it where you can sign up on their waitlist from your phone when you're on the way. So I signed up and it said 22 min to be seated, which gave us plenty of time to arrive, park and walk to the location. We walked in and we were greeted right away and walked over to our table. The table was at the back on the very loud bar side. Our view would've been bar tops and tons of people laughing and enjoying themselves. We asked the person seating us if we could get a booth on the 2nd level. She explained that it wasn't open but give her a second and she'll see what she can do. In a few seconds she returned and said no problem we'll go ahead and seat you and Scott will be your server. I appreciate the fact that they didn't just say no and they worked something out. :) Scott was very friendly and attentive, he made some great recommendations and we ordered spinach dip for an appetizer and dinner I had the grilled Korean bbq beef and a small chicken tortilla soup, my hubby had the orange chicken with the spicy rice. The food was fantastic! Sorry I forgot to snap pics but definitely next time. Yard House has discontinued their late night Happy Hour but they still have the normal 3-6pm HH. If you're at the Irvine Spectrum and need a nice rest stop to go in for some drink and great food, this...

I loved the place. Spacious, private, good food and drinks for a medium rate. ( You have to pay to get some quality)

Recommend stuffs

Appetizer - Loved the blackened shrimp(taco) Main course - Pepper crusted Fillet Dessert - All options are good Sashimi was also good (worth eating again)

The story: We almost tried everything in the menu. I didn't take in a lot of chicken as it was very filling, for calamari the batter is filling. (Would not recommend if you want to keep eating)

The sampler beer - 6 samples - it's something worth trying once but not a big fan to try it everytime. The 4 selective sample is worth it.

Rib eye - not the best that I have eaten, it had a burned flavour, may be because of the way they cook it. We tried rare and medium rare, and well done, all of them had a burned taste as after effect.

Service and Quality - Happy with it. Appreciate the work done by staff.

Overall cleanliness - Restrooms were not clean, I felt the whole place needs a total cleaning. Some TV's were not even turned on, some lights were off, making some zones dark.

I finished with a green tea to help my heart, After all the heavy food. And I loved the personal pot...
