The smell was amazing and lured us in. We ended up getting 8 different cookies as we really couldn’t decide which ones to get. The Oatmeal Butterscotch Salted Caramel immediately caught my attention. Excited to taste them all, we settled on just two right out of the store. The shortbread chocolate chip was just okay. We’ve had better elsewhere but at least it was baked all the way through.
Now for the oatmeal butterscotch salted caramel, it was nice and crispy/cooked on the edges but once you got toward the center, it was raw. I immediately went back inside to exchange the cookies for a cooked one, but I was politely told that they don’t do exchanges or refunds and pretty much I had no options to make it right. The employee, (Elaine, I believe) gave me the spiel that, that is how the cookie is supposed to be, gooey in the center, but I showed her that it was raw. She “promised” me that it was completely cooked and that I need to let the cookie “settle” as it just came out of the oven 30 minutes prior. Feeling helpless and frustrated, we left with our cookies, raw and all, and decided to take her at her word and let it “settle.” Eight (8) hours later, I try the cookie, and it’s still raw in the center. I don’t know how long we were supposed to let it settle but it doesn’t seem reasonable that the cookie is not consumable after 8 hours of letting it settle. I’m sure must of us know how raw cookie dough tastes, and it was still raw.
We still haven’t tried the other six, so if they are subpar or dangerous to consume, this review will be updated. I just wanted to get this posted as a warning to others who were promised that their cookies were fully cooked and...
Read moreI walked past this super cute store and decided to pop in and see if they had gluten free cookies. I asked the girl and she said yes, here they are. She points to two cookies that have chocolate chips and walnuts. I said okay, I will take one. I was the only one in the store. She does the whole, it’s going to ask you a question. Which I went ahead and gave her a tip for putting the cookie in the bag. Once I realized what just transpired. With tax and 15% tip, the total was $16.10!!’😳 for a gluten free and vegan cookie. I left. I could not believe I just spent that much on one single cookie. I am not the person to complain or return things, but this just didn’t sit well with me. I went online and saw their vegan gf cookies are $6.95. So, I went back thinking she just charged me for two on accident. Nope she says that is how much they are. I said online they say $6.95, to which she replies oh those prices are not accurate. So, I look at the board with all the prices. I said you have nothing even close to $14. She said oh well it actually should be $9.95 is that okay. I said no. It is one cookie. She said but it’s because what it’s made with. I said it doesn’t even have gluten or dairy! Lol! She then proceeded to refund me and then says and I’m going to need the cookie back. Gladly handed it back to her. The cookies don’t even look that great. Don’t waste your time or more importantly your money. They should be upfront with the pricing. I...
Read moreEvery time we walk around the Spectrum we see a fairly long line at Hudson's. We checked out the menu online and thought the cookies looked delicious but we're a bit costly. My daughter and I decided to throw caution to the wind and stop to treat ourselves. So glad we did! The cookies are huge and so good. I love a good thumbprint cookie with the buttery shortbread cookie and luscious jam in the middle and this cookie delivered. The raspberry jam in the center was sweet yet a bit tart and was a great balance. We also bought a salted caramel cookie which was also tasty (not too sweet, just right).
Bailey got a brownie which was thick and was the best of both worlds (center was fudgy and the edge crispy and and a great contrast to the gooey center). As soon as you walk in there are plenty of Instagramable photo ops. The staff is friendly and we were able to get our goodies and get out. I am not sure we would go every visit to the Spectrum but what we had was really good and we will for...
