Eatwell African Cuisine — Restaurant in Irvington

Food was good but the lady that took my order has no customer service skills and was very rude I had to repeat my ordered for her several times and she still didn't understand what I was telling her and she understands English the other employee that works the oven turned around and put my order in the computer and told her how hard was it to put a cheese steak with only lettuce pickles and mayonnaise in the computer and he said I heard her the first time and he was five feet away from me now that is good customer service skills and then after my food was done they called it out I went to get it I had told her it was for there not to go and she put it as it was to go I asked for Two Plates and the other employee who work the oven had given them to and after he had given them to me and I had sat down with my husband to eat our sandwich she walked past and was very rude and was saying very rude things under her breath as she was walking past and it had upset me so much and made me feel so uncomfortable that I had wrapped our sandwich back up and ask for a bag and left so the food was very good but the customer service was not it was the worst experience I have ever experienced at a restaurant in my life I will never order from that place again even though the food was great because of how the employees treated me and I am a manager from McDonald's and even I don't treat my customers rudely and disrespectfully like that even if they are rude and disrespectful to me when you are in Custer customer service the customer is right no matter what's the situation but once again the food was wonderful but I will never order or a from there again due to how the customer service was I have never felt so disrespected and uncomfortable in my life the woman had also said racial comments to me which was very unfair and very...

Terrible customer service was received today. No hi and after purchasing no thank you. The lady with the Gap tooth was the cashier. First and last time eating here although the food was okay. But customer service goes a long way. So I walked into this restaurant this lady did not say hI or acknowledge my presence by saying she’ll be right with me but instead continued talking to the other customer not on something important but about pictures on social media and laughing and laughing together until she was done. When she was done no hi sorry to keep you waiting. She just went ahead. So what are you ordering. Gave my order instead of walking out lol I heard the place was good. I gave my order anyway. When my order was ready, she called me up to the cashier to pay but instead kept flirting with this guys and talking and talking. Instead of ringing me up. I was waiting till she finished. After ringing me up no thanks or eye contact. Waved my receipt behind the guy from the his left side and my meal from his right side gave my items to me without a thank you from her. The other day I ordered, Eatwell African Cuisine, for lunch. I had ordered their, Jollof Rice lunch w/ Mixed Meat. The mixed meat came with Beef, Cow Skin, and Tripe. I was under the impression it’d come with Beef, Goat, and Chicken. The Jollof was not bad at all. Ate all of it, and I am not a huge rice person. Mostly the Jollof meals are built around the rice and the meat if applicable are a complement to the meal. I made the unfortunate decision to take a sip of what I thought were the juices of the mixed meat. I found out the hard way that it was simply straight up oil and fat. The beef skin was ok, the tripe was inedible, but the actual beef meat was really good. I’d love to try this place again, hopefully next time with a better understanding. But my reviews are based on flavor and experience. The beef (tail????) was really good, the other meats we fairly inedible. The Jollof was lacking any depth of flavor, but was fairly decent. I give them a generous rating because the staff was exceptional, and kind. From the exterior of the restaurant you wouldn’t expect it to be so nice on the inside.
