WOW! Where do I begin?? As a mother and a Wife having to tell my family that we are abt to go into a shelter was NOT something I wanted to do, then there was the issue of us as a family not being able to find a suitable shelter or a shelter that would accept us(being that We are a 2 mommy family) every shelter we called we were told NO! Imagine how I felt as a mother a protector and provider for my family 😞. After 3+hrs on the phone with 211 and all the NO’s Finally we came across This Beautiful second home that said YES!!! Now I was finally relieved but at the same time Sad cause Who wants to be in a shelter?? Anyway we arrived to Servants house and they had everything ready for us bags with personal items new linens for our beds food and a full staff just waiting to see what we needed and how they can be of assistance. After the weekend was over I had to go to welfare where I was denied EA with that horrible feeling in my gut and throat I came back to Servants house to inform them of what was said and pack our things again and be on our way to God knows where BUT FOR OUR SURPRISE Ms.Alexis (program director) made a few calls and informed me that they wouldn’t put us out. They have been helping us navigate our options and making sure when we do leave we have somewhere safe to go as a family.I REALLY THANK GOD THAT SERVANTS HOUSE HAS PPL LIKE Mrs.T, Ms.Mariana, Ms.Trent, Ms.Gordon, Ms.A, Ms.Barnes, Ms.Jordan, that are compassionate human beings because without all these Amazing human beings we would def be in a very...
Read moreI was here from Jan 2024 until May 2024, and this is a great place, it’s clean and well maintained. When we first arrived Ms. Gordon and Ms. Alexis made us feel welcomed. At a time when I had nowhere to go, I’m so grateful to have been placed in such an amazing facility. My original move out date should have been the second week in April, I ran into a problem with meeting the deadline, they extended my time! It doesn’t get any better than that! We were surrounded by a staff that really cared and viewed us as people, not just a number or the next 211 case to arrive. Shout out too… Ms. Alexis! Mrs. T! Ms. A! Ms. Jordan! Ms. Gordon! Ms. Trent! My case worker Ms. Lucas!! Ms. Becky! And I can’t forget the fellas, Mr. Dwayne and Mr. Roc! Special shout out to Ms. Karima!, who I didn’t get a chance to meet, what you’re doing is truly making a difference!! Y’all keep up the...
Read moreAs someone who found themselves heading into a shelter, i will admit, i was nervous and STRESSED about the type of environment and people i will approach. Entering Servants house i was welcomed by friendly, understanding staff, who will take time to listen to any concerns you have, whether it be within the shelter, or even stuff in life that your stressed about. The units are updated, clean and you have the privilege to privacy with your private room apart from the shared unit. The things that stood out the most is the good energy from the workers, and how they stay ontop of things and nothing goes broken without it getting fixed immediately. Have not run into too much drama here, they are very good at...
