I wanted to go to Cueva survival beach. My Google maps had me walk directly to the military base. They told me how to get to the beach. However, it wasn't Cueva Survival Beach, it was Surfers beach. I walked back to the hotel and they let me know I can only get to Cueva through Surfers and I need sneakers. After having walked around for about a mile being lost, I decided I'll just go to surfers beach because it's closest to me.
The beach is great for surfers because the waves are strong. I went in the water a few times to cool off and to get sand off after I made the walk to Cuevas (against better judgment). It's not a large family beach. The sand is rockier and the water is rough. I also noticed that in the water, there are areas where it's just rock, almost as if I was on a smooth cement floor. Read moreQuite a beautiful place. If you're looking for adventure, here ya go. Surf. Skate on the rad halfpipe. Coco Love, a kind of snack shack run by the sweetest guy. He offers delicious Puerto Rican coffee and energizing coco frio. Also has snacks. I really liked him because he treats this oasis like his own. Very eco-friendly! Lots of people get confused when arriving at Surfers Beach, expecting to drive on to Survivors Beach.
Very important: once you arrive at Surfers Beach you will have to hike to Survivors Beach. Trails will take you there. Ask at Coco Love if you miss the sign that directs you to Survivors Beach. If you plan on visiting the beautiful, remote Survivors Beach, please bring a backpack, comfortable hiking shoes, WATER, and sunscreen. It's worth the trek. Or, just chill and watch the surfers....
Read moreThis beach was beautiful, i need to take up surfing. This beach is for surfing. It was beautiful to sit and watch the waves crash along the rocks. I just got into snorkeling, watching the surfers out on the water catching the waves, was so free. There's lots of warning signs to swimmers: Rip tides, no life guard, enter at your own risk. I collected shells, sat on the sand and admired the beauty of this beach. Went to crash boat beach but the parking is really bad out there. So deside to go to one of the many beaches in augadilla. Please take caution and enjoy this beautiful beach, if you surf, this is you little haven away from the rest. I would recommend checking it out, the road isn't paved. Bring you own food, drinks and anything you will need. Your on your own, be safe and...
