Jakob is a very short walk from the parking lot near the community center in Issaquah. A pave trail that you could even bring someone in a wheelchair too.
The trolls are so interesting . Read about Dambo’s trolls in several places in and around Seattle, but also around the world.
Last year I took a couple of days to see all five of the trolls in Seattle and this year I brought a brother and his wife who were in town from Florida.
We went into the town of Issaquah and had some lunch and then drove over to see Jakob.
Something about the trolls makes you wanna take a picture with them.
One thing that I’ve noticed is that you just really can’t spend that much time there. You go in at first struck by the uniqueness of this troll and really of all of the trolls.
You spend a few minutes with them and look all around. But you realize there’s also other people who want to do the same thing so you take a little bit of time for yourself, but you show respect for other people.
There’s not really that much else around except to maybe walk some trails.
So it’s really worth the trip to go see each troll and you could really see three of them on the eastern side of Puget Sound in a day .
There are two more on the west side of Puget Sound, which would take...
Read moreWe went to visit this attraction on a Friday afternoon around 3:30. There were a few other cars in the [free] parking lot and not too many people on the paved path as we made our way to the troll. There were just a few other families in the area when we arrived. By the time we were leaving around 4 pm a crowd had definitely grown. The path to the troll is paved and level, no roots, dips, or erosion to worry about. The area directly around the troll is dirt. A stroller or wheelchair may be a little tough to get directly next to the troll due to the slight incline and there's not much of a flat spot next to or in front of the troll. However, there are great picture opportunities from the paved path or even just off of the paved path if you are not able to get directly next...
Read moreThe Rainier Trail in Issaquah is a flat and short trail that any family with young kids can easily walk onto. We went there on a Sunday mid-morning. There were a lot of parking spots in the beginning of the trail although they were almost full when we arrived. We brought our dog and had a nice walk. After a short walk, we saw Jakob Two Trees that was created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. It is one of five trolls in the Seattle area including Bainbridge Island, West Seattle, Vashon Island and Ballard. There were several people in front of us waiting for photo ops. We appreciate the artist’s creation that puts smiles on many people’s faces. We are planning to check out other trolls in the area for fun...
