It feels quite strange to be giving such a low review to this place, when only a few weeks ago, it would have been a five-star review. This was hands down my favorite haunt for the last 2 years, since it was so close to where I worked. The bartenders were amazing, the regulars were amazing, and it was just overall a lovely place. I spent a lot of money here, and made sure to always tip the bartenders exorbitantly, because they deserved it and made me feel welcome.
Which is why it's a complete shock to me that as soon as a new owner came into the picture, they fired damn near everyone who made the Log so special.
I'm no stranger to business owners making...shall we say, "ignorant"... decisions, but somehow it still astounds me every time they do it. But I'm just an (ex) customer, what do I know?
That said...do better. This was a boneheaded, callous decision made without taking customers or staff or anything that made this place special into account.
Meagan, Sean, Julie, Michelle - y'all were the best, and I'm so grateful to have gotten to know you over the last few years. I can't wait to see where life takes y'all next, and I can never thank you all enough for being part of why the Log gave me a place I could be myself.
To all the regulars I've befriended over the years - I won't be spending money at this place anymore anytime soon, that's for damn sure, but rest assured I will still be around. I'll catch you on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen the choice of an owner is to choose wealth, money and greed over the culture and heart of a well established environment, full of music, community and loveā you know it is time to protest the most recent decisions that were made. There is now no more karaoke by one of the greatest musicians, there is no more life by the community, and we are now witnessing GREED at its finest. I am heartbroken as I met one of my best friends ever there and we had two beautiful children together. We met because of music and the heart of that place was music. I tell you that this ownership doesnāt have to last forever. And nothing ever does. So the next owners, I hope you see and realize that heart and soul was the foundation of this place. Now it is operated by grief, pain, sorrow, and unfortunately that pain is projecting onto others now. I hope and pray that the evolution of this establishment turns to the heart and soul again. My memories are a lot stronger than the disrespect that has been placed on some of the best bartenders Issaquah has seen. The best musicians Issaquah has seen. And the truest heart and soul Issaquah knows; the heavens know to be true! Good luck owners. I hope you are true to yourself and know when the time is right to sell and take some time out for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat could have possible happened in the past 6-8 months? This place is a shell of its former self.. New owner? They have fired the excellent bar tenders and replaced them with incompetents. They have a whole bar, but make patrons line up and order drinks at a kiosk- again, the bartenders inability to properly manage a semi busy bar.. It appears that they have also fired the company who manages their (popular) karaoke nights. They were excellent and brought in a fun crowd. Now I am hearing that there will be a cover charge on Friday - Saturday!! You have got to be kidding me! This place has been around for 80+ years and was always a fun, energetic place to be on the weekends and a chill place to get a beer on the weeknights. The last few times i have been there (under new mgmt) it has felt shady and 'off' the staff is cranky, dull and inefficient.
These guys have made a series of horrible decisions over the past 6 months and the bar is worse for the wear.
You are better off making the haul to North Bend and going to the Sure Shot- its...
