If I could give the Passport Division a -5 stars I would. I took my 18 yr old daughter in to get her first passport at the City of Issaquah passport office. We went in to the office and I told the lady what we were there for. She looked at me with the death stare and said "Do you have an appointment?" I told her "No, I looked on your website (which I have attached a picture of) and it did not say that you needed an appointment." She then said "Well, I do not know what you were looking at, but you do." I said "Okay. I looked at didn't see that. I'm sorry." She then continued to glare at us and said "I guess I can take it" Mind you, there was only me, my daughter and the clerk in the office. Not one other poor soul was in there at that time, nor did anyone come in during this time. It was 1:00 in the afternoon, so not even close to the 3:00 deadline for the day so it wasn't like we were keeping her from going home and wallowing in her anger and resentments. We had all of the pertinent paperwork filled out, picture already taken and ready, two forms of ID and the two required money orders. She took the paperwork and began going over it. There was a question on one of the forms and I had missed it. The clerk asked the question and my 18 yr old daughter looked to me for guidance and as I started to answer for her the clerk butted in and said "She can answer this. Shes 18 and she is the one signing the form." My daughter looked a little scared at that point and proceeded to answer the question, correctly luckily. At some point she said I need copies of two papers in the application and said it would cost me $.15 per copy. I said okay. I then had to dig through my purse to find her $.30 for the copies. I don't carry cash so rarely do I have cash or change. She stood there waiting as I did this before she would go take the copies. Once this ordeal was over she said "You know you need money orders or cashiers checks to process the application right?" And I said "Yes. I have them" I gave her the money orders and she gave us a receipt and we left. I have never been treated like that by someone that is commonly known as a "public servant." To the lady at the passport office I have something to say, I am sorry that you hate your job and possibly your life but when you deal with the public, suck it up and put a smile on your face and take it out on your dog when you get home. This women was beyond rude, disrespectful for no reason and downright b**y. I understand people have bad days, don't enjoy their jobs, get tired of dealing with people and what not. I have bad days to but I know that it is my job to put on a damn smile and act nice to people when they walk in our office. Regardless of what is going on in my life. To the City of Issaquah, I would like to offer a suggestion that you rethink who you put in job positions that have to be pleasant and professional to people when they come in. This women would be better off sitting in a cubicle staring at a wall where she does not have to interact with anyone. My suggestion to anyone who is reading this is to go ANYWHERE BUT HERE to get your passport unless you enjoy being treated poorly for no reason. Again, I have attached a screenshot from the City of Issaquah website that ask the question "Do I need an appointment?" but doesn't actually answer the question. The question is underlined and in bold but it is not something you click on to get an answer to the question, this is just how it looks on the website. My last thought is to you the City of Issaquah, you may want to actually address that question with an answer on your website so as not to burden your poor overworked passport clerk and have her take the wrath of god out on peoples asses because your website is...
