Update- Employees aren't paid. I went by to see after 3mo if prices changed. Then a herd of women came in and I realized a womens conference next door ( store's owner) let out at church. Prices were adjusted accordingly and appropriately but apparently only for the event. Im guessing church encouraged them to come over in the meeting. I did a price check on a tagless item AFTER they left- $3 for a tiny small BOWL! I picked up a large platter set at $2 that was priced for the event. I showed her but no answer. Now I KNOW for CERTAIN you know exactly what you are doing! This girl is looking at ebay prices and just copied them on her tags. I went to look at the set she priced over $60 and it was cracked, broken, and chipped. Ebay sells these in good condition. YOU RECIEVE THESE FREE! Church PAYS for the rent, and employees WORK FREE also for hours of service! The african american girl prices at ebay prices for broken items and USED SHOES! She is out to get as much as possible from your community. The nice items that come in are sold for new or held for decor. If you've addressed this as you've stated she is not respecting you. But after this it appears she is carrying out your instruction. Homeless guys across the parking lot too. 😔
O.P.- I've been here 3x. I was VERY impressed the first time with the prices and people. Good fair prices for a thrift store and good people working there representing the Christian church right there in the shopping center with it. However today was the third time. They stopped with the good prices. It's now comparable to Ross or Marshalls but with used products. Kind of like consignment prices but a thrift store sign. I was happy to see new things but also new price tags that LITERALLY are so expensive some of them have explanations on them! One lamp said $42 valued at $100 or $200 (I forgot). Hopes closet has good products don't get me wrong. But you may be better off hitting a Ross for something new instead. It just started this way unfortunately because I have brought in 10 people now by word of mouth in 3 weeks to see this store that had good products with THRIFT STORE prices.I mentioned the prices were high recently and the cashier snapped back, "just like everything else in this world." And then the other cashier said " we might be expensive but we're worth it!" I mean ok but isn't this a ministry for the community with items that are donated? For everyone to be able to get quality items affordable regardless of a brand? The joy I had in my heart that there was ACTUALLY a church that had a nice thrift store for the community and werent in the same category as other stores as far as pricing, representation, and doing this for their community with a good heart. There are increasingly items with no price anywhere. There were so many without a tag and others with "valued at" as an actual explanation for the price gouge. Big disappointment. I even had a manager do a price check. No answer from the manager. Just a nod about the price and off she went. But there was literally NO brand on it. There were used watches at $25 a pop up front and I didn't even ask if it was the right price I just asked if it was a number or dollar sign on the tag and then the other cashier said it's probably the brand. I had never heard of the brand but ok. I just put it back. There are signs that say dishes sell as a set. But then other sets you have to buy each different part of the set at $4-$10 for 4 pieces on at 20 piece set. More and more stock will continue to accrue. Because while I was checking out 3 people in front of us asked if the prices were right and then said they didnt want them. I turned to my friend and said it's not just me. Sad. Unfortunate. Oh well. The snotty response I got after mentioning they were more expensive now said it all. I was told yes they were expensive but there was a good cause but not what it was, and I was told everything is expensive so 🤷 I don't know it seems all name brands for every question of high prices. I consider Walmart and Ross at these prices. But...
Read moreSince I recently moved to the area, I was very excited about visiting this thrift store since it's near one of my favorite local coffee shops. My mom and I went here earlier today to browse for some summer dresses, as well as the other clothes and accessories they carry. I liked how well organized everything was in the store, especially considering that they organized everything by color and size, which is really helpful. The staff overall seemed nice and friendly. However, once we got to the fitting room we started having issues.
Since we had a lot of items to try on, we could only take 10 items in at a time. While we were trying to follow the store system and protocol for clothes in the fitting room, we had a bunch of tops that we were intending to buy, so my mom placed a "hold/do not take" sign on the merchandise that was in our basket. Unfortunately, once we were done in the fitting room we noticed that all of our tops were gone! We had no idea who grabbed our clothes. When my mom and I confronted the staff about this issue, one employee was willing to help us locate the tops that we had lost. However, none of the other employees took accountability and told us what really happened. We tried finding the tops after they were put back, but it was hard to even look through the clothes again to see what we had originally picked out.
Thankfully, we didn't leave empty-handed, as we both got some dresses and cardigans. However, they need to install security cameras or have a better policy in place when it comes to holding customers' items so other customers or staff don't take items by mistake so this doesn't...
Read moreIt was a nice place that is surrounded by nice "Christian ppl". The employees are there working hard as possible trying to keep it clean + organized. I really enjoyed the atmosphere & looking @ all the stuff they have to sell. (Nice for a Non-Profit)organization..... ....So, I will have to say that I was impressed with the selection of shoes for Men & Women & they had a ton of business casual or dress up clothes... However, I didn't see a lot of "old trinkets" or rare finds other than the usual things in the dishes section. It seemed to be more geared to help the younger crowd, which is great also. I even saw some gorgeous wedding attire, for a bridesmaid, or if you need a formal dress for an event such as Prom or even a sweet 16 dance. The last thing I would like to acknowledge a big "Thank you" for all the hard wk that went into putting their merchandise in a top shape organization!!!@ ☆☆ Kudos for making it easy for us customers not to be looking thru a ton of disorganized junk! It was nice to not get overwhelmed with having to go digging thru piles of junk with no order whatsoever...you knew exactly what section you were shopping in for sure! In closing, I would say the prices seem to be good for their merchandise... So I say it was...
