We have been going here for 2-2 1/2 years since my son’s first hair cut. Every experience has been amazing until today. The “stylist”, Cirila, even stopped herself and knowingly said that the haircut looked horrible and called in a different stylist to help. After I requested Elizabeth to keep doing my son’s hair as she was doing her best to salvage what was left of his hair, Cirila proceeded to yell at me and throw things onto the counter. I said nothing and excused myself. She then tried to again start cutting my son’s hair. My husband politely declined and told her he preferred Elizabeth to continue. Cirila then thew guards and scissors off of the station onto the floor and yelled at him telling them he should have went somewhere else and that she does not specialize in that style (a kids crew cut with a #2 guard) and his hair type (fine hair). Mind you, she had a time before the cut when we were talking about the style and length. She could have then refused him as a client as it is her right as a stylist, but then proceeded to cut his hair and has now made haircuts difficult as we then tried to take him to a different salon where he proceeded to have a meltdown and be scared when this was never an issue before. We obviously didnt finish his hair cut due to him being super upset about this experience. Right before she stepped away to call over the other stylist, my son expressed to her that she was being “too hard” as she was pressing into him with the razor and forcing his neck down. He was almost in tears. I also witnessed her telling the child before mine that his posture was awful and that he was moving around and she also was forcing his head. The mother looked uncomfortable and when they went to pay she told them that she only takes cash tips because she “ have to” report them on her taxes. Tips are not expected! The family was very uncomfortable as they didn't ask and just walked up to pay. The other stylist Elizabeth was so kind and apologized to us and was doing her best to rectify the situation. Elizabeth would be the only reason I would consider returning and will be my sons stylist. Cirila showed a lack of professionalism and general disregard for safety and should not be cutting children’s hair.

This location earned a two star solely based off of the politeness of the stylist. My son had a haircut appointment scheduled for 11:45am. We arrived about 5 minutes early. We waited about 45 minutes before his haircut started. There was only ONE hairstylist working….. she was super busy and that definitely showed in the cleanliness. Very much NOT clean. My son is 3 years old and Autistic with extreme sensitivity around his ears so he definitely cry’s and moves a lot but eventually calms down. The stylist was patient, as patient as she could be but definitely rushed my sons haircut. I’ve been to another location where they took there time with my son and his haircut came out AMAZING. This time it was the complete opposite. If there wasn’t going to be time to provide the haircut I was paying for.. his appointment should have been cancelled. When I got home and was able to actually look at his hair, I wanted to literally cry by how butchered my baby’s hair is. His line up in the back is completely slanted and taken up inches further than where his hairline actually is. Nothing is leveled. I’m sure the stylist could have done a better job given different circumstances but this was a huge waste of my hard earned money and a really big disappointment. I could have done a better job myself. Update: 4/20. I was contacted shortly after the review and was offered to come back to fix my sons haircut. I just wanted to wait for his hair to grow back, so I was offered a complimentary cut. Which is why I went in today. Everything was perfect. Sheree did an amazing job and was super patient while my son had his meltdowns. Even with her taking her time, she was done super quick with amazing results. His haircut was exactly what I asked for. You could see the HUGE difference from his last haircut even though the same thing was asked for both times. We will back!

My son hasn't had a hair cut in about 3 years. The last time we tried to take him for a hair cut the styles told me not to come back until he's older. I don't blame her, he freaked our and tried to grab everything...the sound of the buzzer bothered him. Fast forward to today, and my son finally got a haircut!! He was super nervous but his big brother kept encouraging him that it's not scary at all. I choose cookie curtters because of the cool cars kids can sit in while getting their hair cut. He absolutely loved this feature and chose the police car. The stylist, Mimi, was so patient with him and encouraged him to feel the buzzer so he understands it doesn't hurt. She gave him a dinosaur cape, which of course he thought was cool! Them Mimi asked him his favorite movie and proceeded to put on Finding Nemo. After the hair cut he climbed up the cool firetruck to lay down for his shampoo...he loved it! Next we went to pick out a toy (they have hotweels for $2.50 or something like that and other toys) and balloon. The balloons were free and Mimi asked if my 9 year old son wanted a balloon too, which of course he did. They chose their balloon colors and she offered a lollipop, also free! This was my first time at a Cookie Cutters and it definitely isn't my last! I greatly appreciate you Mimi, and I look forward to having you cut my boy's hair again! Oh and bonus, it's 10 minutes from the beach so of course we made a trip to the beach!

I'm giving it one more star than I feel this place is worth because I've had one good experience with one hairdresser here, but that is the only good thing I've found with this location. I regularly take my kids to the Cookie Cutters in Oakleaf and we've had no issues. We've come to the Beach Blvd location three times due to location specific coupons and it seems like we've had nothing but issues. The first visit we got a hairdresser that was on time with our appointment, did a great job on my daughter's bob cut and we were on our way. The second visit we did a walk-in and waited. Once all of the appointments cleared out and we were up next, all hairdressers took a break to sweep, smoke, talk and we waited an additional 15 minutes to be called for a haircut. I try to be understanding so we just waited and then told them what services we needed. We got a hairdresser named Lisa and a hairdresser named Amy (I think?). We left with two crooked haircuts for my daughters. One was bangs only (straight across cut) done by Lisa and I was told we could take them even shorter (they were already cut halfway up her forehead which is shorter than I asked for) or we could keep it as is because "she was moving". My daughter's shoulder length bob done by Amy(?) was very obviously half an inch or so longer on her right side than it was the left. I was told the same thing "kids move, that's the best we could do". We left with crooked haircuts and way too much money spent on the services and tips. We tried one last time yesterday when we got a $3 off coupon for that day only. I was told they didn't have availability but would honor the coupon if we came back the next day (today). We made appointments for 6:15 and 6:30 for my two daughters to get the same cuts (bangs trimmed and an inch or two off the bob cut). There were two hairdressers available (Stephanie and Lisa, again). I was hoping to get Stephanie for both cuts as Lisa was halfway through a kids cut and Stephanie had no customers. Upon us entering and coming to the counter Stephanie looked at us, ignored us, put her AirPod in her ear and walked out back. She remained outside for 20+ minutes until Lisa finished the kids cut she was already performing. She then came in to change garbage bags and sweep until Lisa specifically asked Stephanie to come help. Stephanie looked at me and said "one of them is bangs only? Which one?". She performed the quickest bang cut I've seen while holding my daughters head still with her hands around her chin and then she lifted my daughter out of the chair without asking or giving me a chance to help and then put her AirPods back in and proceeded to walk around finding things to do while having a personal phone conversation. Meanwhile, it is now 7:00 (30mins past the LAST appt time which was supposed to be the bang cut) and Lisa is just now starting on my oldest's bob cut. I asked for "above the shoulder length". I told her our hair is so thin and course that it does not brush well while wet but she insisted she was wetting and brushing her hair right. It took 10+ minutes for the hair brushing alone because she was ripping the layers of my daughter's hair from each other to get it brushed. She cuts the back of my daughter's hair and says she's almost done but her hair was still an inch past her shoulders. Lisa rolls her eyes and sighs and tells my daughter "okay mom wants it shorter, let's look down again...". The second try worked and was the proper length. I was then asked to grab my daughter's head every time Lisa went to cut the lengths so it "would be the right length and not crooked". I've NEVER had to hold my kids' heads or faces during a haircut at the other Cookie Cutters location or at any of the Hair Cutterys I've been to with my kids and we've never left with apparent crooked haircuts either. I would 10/10 not recommend the Beach Blvd Cookie Cutters location. It's not cheap, nor is it a good value and the staff I've experience is not good with kids (or...

I took my 4-year-old daughter for her first hair cut and will never return. I can’t believe that they claim to know how to work with children! Upon arrival we walked back to the washing station where the stylist was extremely impatient with my daughter. “Hurry up, Lay down, come on hurry” over and over. Even throwing his hands in the air because she was hesitant and not obeying his over-bearing commands. I was uncomfortable so I can only imagine how my daughter felt.

I finally told him that we would skip the hair wash and just do the cut. In the chair, he started spraying her hair and put a thick cream in her hair. He started brushing it out and she kept saying “ouch, that hurts” to which he replied “no, it doesn’t”. He claimed that she must have slime on her hair from school and that he won’t be able to cut it if we don’t wash it because the slime will ruin his scissors. I assured him that it was not slime but that her hair knots easily which is why we were there to get it cut...And that the goo on her hair was the product that he had just applied.

He did a blunt cut and then tried to soften the ends but did a terrible job. Her hair looks like it was cut with a dull knife. He asked if she wanted a braid in the front and she (and I) clearly said “no”. He braided it anyway. “All done” he announced once he finished the braid. I asked if he was going to blow dry it and he looked at me like I was crazy. He asked the girl at the desk and she made a face of disgust snd said “we already did an $8 comb out!” I asked what that had to do with drying her hair and she said “it’ll be $20 for a blow dry.” I told her that was fine (ridiculously overpriced but I wanted my daughter to leave feeling comfortable and pretty) and she shrugged her shoulders and told the stylist to blow dry it “even though there is product in her hair”. He did...reluctantly.

In the end, her haircut is absolutely horrible and we had a terrible experience. We will never go back and I will be putting a blast on social media and warning my friends to avoid the place at all costs. It’s not worth the trauma that my daughter went through for what was supposed to be a fun and...
