No.1 Hair Salon — Attraction in Jacksonville

I've been coming here for over a year and a half now, and I have loved it every since my first visit. I am very picky when it comes to who I trust with touching my hair. I did start as a walk-in, and instantly felt at-home.

Nonna is the one that always does my hair. She is awesome. My favorite part about her is the high-level of customer service that she provides. She will not let me leave if I am unhappy with my hair.

This hair salon is located in a small strip mall on the corner. There is plenty of parking. The salon has open house as well, I am not too sure exactly what they are as I usually call ahead of time to schedule an appointment.

Do not let the exterior of the salon fool you. All of the ladies inside are more than helpful, and have provided the best customer service that I have ever seen at a hair salon. Very diverse group of ladies working there, and I love it! :-)

Not to mention, these ladies also do nails and provide waxing services. Awesome! I have recommended three ladies to Nonna so far, and all have been pleased. If you happen to stop by, ask for her!

She also specializes in Permanent Japanese Straightening by Yoku. This is a $300 treatment that is worth every penny and will leave your hair beautiful and straight for endless days. Shout out to Ms. Sam, who is an experienced and very detail oriented. She took her time on my hair and my sister's hair as well. Took her an hour to cut each of our hair and she is very patient, listened well on our instructions on how we wanted the hair to look like.

Although the appointment ran a bit late during to her other clients being overall picky, she was still able to take her time during my appointment. So that was a pleasant first time experience I had here. I highly recommend you make an appointment with Sam if you have thin and long asian hair like mine. She's familiar with our hair textures so it's much easier for her to cut and style or color for my type of hair.

I had my appointment with Nona on Saturday and asked to get the ombré pictured below. I got nothing like it at all. She put highlights on the top of my head and they are chunks of color where it’s supposed to transition and also they are orange in color. Many orange chunks through out. On top of not getting what I requested she also chopped off my hair after I insisted she not cut off. After I sent her a text telling her how I feel upset with my hair she sends me back a text and sends me the picture I had sent her back in January and says that picture had highlights!!! It was an insult to me because I had a different picture on Saturday which is the one attached to this review and it’s been over half a year since I had sent her that picture which was clearly not what I wanted....
