Riis Park Pool (Outdoor) — Attraction in Jefferson Township

What a waste of time and tax payers money. During "Youth swim " no parents are allowed inside the gate (on the pool deck). While watching my 8 and 12 year old swim by themselves from outside the gate (they were the ONLY two in the pool). I watched family after family leave because they were NOT ALLOWED inside the gate to watch their children swim. The pool was completely empty on a very beautiful 80 degree day. As a lifeguard at this pool, I would say it's well staffed, and it may have a lot of rules, but it is all for patron safety. The swim schedule is a little weird, but there are a lot of opportunities to swim. Just don't come 5 mins before the swim ends bc most of the time, we won't let you in.
