Have been wanting to visit the Crawford Long Museum for many years and finally got off the interstate today and checked it out.
Its much more than a museum about Doctor Crawford Long. There’s a good bit of history about the small town of Jefferson and the local area, a fascinating collection of medical instruments and equipment, and a room full of of anesthesia paraphernalia. There’s a smattering of period furniture and medical journals. The interpretation everywhere is excellent.

We spent 2 hours looking, reading, comparing artifacts and instruments of dentistry as well as foods displayed in the general store...and I still didnt read it all! Electronic audio tour guides are available at the admission desk and will explain the various exhibits if you aren't the type that likes to read.
