Friends Jefferson Grill — Restaurant in Jefferson

Dropped in last week for lunch with a friend, and it was an awesome experience. We'll definitely be back! :)

I got the pimento cheese wontons, and they were incredible! Such a fun mashup of flavors! I'll be getting those again for sure. I also got the grilled pear wedge salad, which was excellent! I don't think I'd change anything about my order, and I'd recommend it all! My friend got the boneless wings, plain, and got several sauces on the side. She said it was all good, and especially praised the tenderness of the chicken and the flavor of the BBQ sauce.

Our waitress, Kenzie, was a joy! She kept saying it was an off day for her, but we thought she was excellent. :)

The parking situation is frustrating and confusing, but there's plenty of parking around this place if you don't mind looking around for it. They don't seem to have their own parking lot, though, so get creative and bring and umbrella if it looks like rain - you'll be walking at least a little bit.

As for the atmosphere, the place is decked out in tons of colors like a fun sports pub, but instead of it being sport-specific, it's often just a lot of colorful and silly references or jokes. I appreciated how eclectic it was. As an aside, not all the jokes printed on the tables are 100% kid-appropriate. The only thing that was unpleasant was that in the late afternoon, it got extremely hot in there. I'm really cold natured, but we were both sweating, and I'm not sure if their AC was acting up or if that's normal there.

Over all, I'd recommend this place. The service was great, they weren't overly crowded or deserted, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. I sent pictures of my food to people for the next few days. Lol.

*Note: To anyone following me for gluten-free food reviews, this place doesn't seem particularly gluten-free friendly, but I don't have to eat gluten-free when my husband isn't around, so I didn't check. I'll update if I ask questions...

Friday afternoon my colleagues and I visited this restaurant for lunch. We’ve ordered take out service before and food was good, so we decided to drop in for lunch. Our server was awesome, food was good. We all had the lunch special for $8. When I received my food I noticed that my portions were bigger than everyone else, I immediately asked my server what happened, she replied, it was a mistake and she would take care of it. We received the checks, mine wasn’t adjusted and I was being charged $25 for a burger, she took the check to the manager to have it adjusted, he (manager) approached our table aggressively and asked who had the meal. I told him it was mine and he didn’t give me an opportunity to explain what happened. He was obnoxious and unprofessional, he kept saying he was going to loose $25. I didn’t want to make a bigger scene so I paid for it. I told him that I would never visit or order from this establishment again. We all were in shock of what had transpired. When I left the restaurant I called back and talked with the manager (Nick I think) about what took place and he needed to work on CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PROFESSIONALISM. We've loved the Friends restaurant ever since we first went to the one in Winder. We were so glad when they came to Jefferson and were a lot closer. They make pretty decent food here in a laid-back relaxing atmosphere. They offer Angus beef and Bison for burgers Etc. They have a wide variety of foods on their menu. Their french fries are super good. They also have a full bar and a little game room in the front to play games while you wait for your table. The first time we went to the one in Jefferson the staff were all very friendly! Oh, they were pretty crowded being it was a Friday night and they are new to Jefferson. Also there is not a lot of restaurants in Jefferson to choose from so they can be quite crowded for that reason as well. It was a little tight in the restaurant and much smaller than the one in Winder. There is parking on the side as well as in the back of the restaurant. Also they are opening up another gravel parking lot just down past the restaurant. The manager was really cool and the staff including our server were very helpful and polite.
