This was our first time here and I was so impressed! The pricing was much better than other theaters. For $26 my son and I got movie tickets, a kids combo (popcorn, drink and m&ms), and I got a hotdog. The popcorn and drinks are refillable which is so nice. The facilities were clean, and the staff was wonderful. I also appreciated that there was many stalls in the women’s bathroom, so there was no wait. I was quite impressed that when I called with the question, there was no automated system, the manager actually answered the phone immediately. I had called with a dietary restriction, and the manager said it was perfectly fine for me to bring my own drink, which I greatly appreciated as I cannot have any carbonation. The seats were very comfortable. They are not electric recliners, but they do lean back a good bit and they were very comfortable. All of the seats have cupholders which made it so much easier. I will say it was quite cold in there, so I will plan on dressing warmer next time.
Be mindful that the seats are not assigned like other theaters, so if you want to choose a good seat you will need to get there earlier.
From now on we will be seeing all of our movies here. Thank you to the manager for answering my questions. We had...
Read moreI remember visiting this movie theater when I was in high school (20 years ago). Starmount Crossing Cinema V was the place to be! The smell of buttery popcorn, the towering movie posters, the lights, the game room with ice hockey and arcade games. Now, it feels a little sad to me. I took my son to see "IF" and the theater is definitely in need of some TLC. The paint is scuffed on the walls, the athroom doors are marred, and the carpet is threadbare and faded in places, and the posters that were displayed had folds and creases in them. The once crowded game room is dark and empty now and the once bright and welcoming entrance into the theater is now just another transaction at the snack counter, as you pay for your tickets and snacks all in one transaction and are pointed to the door going to the hallway where the movies are being played. It makes me miss the old days, when you paid at the window, while standing on the sidewalk and we're given a physical ticket that needed to be...
Read moreI live in Elkin and I am a FREQUENT moviegoer...at least 4-5 times monthly...out of town mostly for the last few months. This theater once had the BEST popcorn of any theater I have been to...not the case anymore. The popcorn is some of the WORST around now. For the price of popcorn today, it should be OUTSTANDING in any theater...who wants to go to a movie and purchase and TRY to eat dried out and tough popcorn??? I don't know if the popcorn is too old or if not enough oil is added during popping, since I have gotten popcorn that has just been popped and it was dry and tough.... PLEASE, Starmount Cinema, bring back the delicious popcorn you once served on a daily basis! This may all sound pretty petty, but half of the movie experience for me in having GREAT popcorn while enjoying a movie on 'the...
