The Yellow Door Café — Restaurant in Elkin

As a travel through town guest with small children it was probably not the right place for us. They also supposedly had a huge brunch rush and were out of a lot of things.

It’s a converted house to a restaurant so it’s cute with a country decor. I would agree that the Reuben is amazing here. The rest of my family got burgers and although we asked for a medium they were all different doneness. My son’s burger was burned but the burgers were hand made and good size. Although there were two servers it felt like there was really just one trying to service the whole place. We chose not to mention the burned burger because it took a long time to get our food to the table.

I guess if you are into a Reuben or a French dip this is a great place (their BLT looked great too), otherwise for a simpler palate...

This beautiful cozy restaurant was highly recommended to us. We are so happy that we stopped in for breakfast. It was like walking into your own home cozy comfortable atmosphere. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The food is amazing quiche homemade delicious. I could not believe when they had chipped beef on their menu haven't had it for years and it was so soooooo good (comfort food). Walked in on a Friday morning, and not crowded, just one person seated & waiting on his food. But they had outdoor seating too, so we chose that for the weather was great.

Waitress was very attentive & brought drinks right away. The food came out quickly & both dishes - chicken & waffles and the Rueben were very good.

I am not often in Elkin when the Yellow Door is open - serving Breakfast 🍳 , Lunch & Brunch, closing early afternoon. But certainly will come back for more meals...
