Disney Wonder bus shuttle to downtown in Juneau, Alaska. The Wonder uses the AJ dock which is walkable but its much easier and faster to take the bus shuttle. Videos from 5/19/23 @Disney Parks #disneycruise #disneywonder #alaska #juneau

NCL Jewel docks exclusively at AJ Dock while in Juneau. This dock is furthest from the city, at the site of the old mining plant. There are many free shuttles going to and from this docking area to town. Some are dedicated to the Jewel because its farther out. The two-mile walk has one long hill and takes about 30-35 minutes. The walk has a sidewalk and runs beside S. Franklin St. and into an industrial area, so there is traffic. The dock itself is beside a rusting and abandoned storage area for shipping containers, that are stacked high. If you have trouble walking, or it is raining, take the shuttle.

The town itself is fine but with this dock you need to take a free shuttle to go to the city and the lines can be long. My cruise that was Royal Caribbean arrived there and when we got out of the cruise we needed to take that shuttle. For the shuttle we waited approximately 15-20 minutes. It was not that bad but some people had to wait longer lines than me. In general I don’t care if the dock is far from the city, but it would be nice to have more shuttles to make the process faster.

Another cruise port dock that is the farthest away from the city you want to visit; thus it's going to be the one Norwegian Cruise Lines picks to use. This terminal was only surpassed by Ward Cove (barely) for how bad it is. The tour group employees were not orginize and didn't know which busses went to what tours and were constantly putting people on the wrong busses. No one from the tour company knew what bus at what location was for what tour and every one of them had a diffent answer, even if it was the same person you were asking for a...

The dock is very large. It costs 5.00 to take the shuttle back and forth into town. The downtown is a mile away if you want to walk it. Whomever runs the shuttle service may want to consider putting a shelter over their waiting line. It was pouring rain the day we got there, and standing in line was miserable. I gave up and went back to the ship.

Update: We went back this year, again it was raining and the shelter over the waiting area was so nice! Thanks for hearing us and doing something about it. I changed my stars to a 5...
