Great service. Picked us out of a crowd to tell us how good of a deal they had for us. for about $200 we got a rental car, a nice 2024 Subaru crossover type vehicle. The biggest worry they helped us work through was we had our toddler son in a stroller, and coming from a cruise ship for several hours to visit Juneau we didn't want to use the public / mass transit transportation. This was a very reasonable price, they included the car seat for our son (one less thing to carry our or worry about). They gave us a coveted self produced map with all the popular spots to check to in Juneau, hand writing in extra points of interest not on the general maps. They gave us tips on a better order of scenic stops to help us beat the crowds. We had from friends we met on the ship and they had family in Juneau and due to the advice from Explore Juneau, we kept running into these friends and all the popular and lesser known sites. Getting to park and drive at our leisure and time schedule and let our son get his naps made for a perfect experience. All the staff with this company was very professional and personal. From the friendly man who did all he could to honestly convince us that the rental car for the day was the way to go, to the man who brought us over from the dock shuttle area to the rental location, to the ladies who helped us process the paperwork. The staff, including Ev and Chris, were incredibly helpful right from the start, offering great advice on the best tour stops that would best suit my families needs. Thousands of people from 5 cruise ships descended upon Juneau that day. We were directed towards beautiful quiet and local spots that made our trip to Alaska more enjoyable. We don’t have to wait for shuttles to pick us up or pay expensive excursion fees for a quick trip. We were able to enjoy the sights on our own time.
We rented a Subaru Outback. The quality of the car exceeded my expectations; it was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary features for a comfortable drive along Alaska's stunning landscapes.
Using their services was a breeze; the checkout process was straightforward, and refueling and returning the car was equally convenient. They even offered to drive us back to the cruise terminal too.
Moreover, their location near the cruise terminal made it extremely convenient for us. We had planned to use a different company but their rental pickup was much farther away. This proximity saved us valuable time and allowed us to begin our adventure immediately after disembarking.

Read moreOn June 16th, 2025, Juneau experienced a freak storm that caused chaos and destruction. I had just purchased two passes for the Glacier Tour Bus when only five minutes later a record breaking 70 mph wind, hail and rainstorm hit the port. Our cruise ship, the Celebrity Edge, broke free from the mooring and was carried out to sea. After about 20 minutes, the main assault had died down and we were left breathless and shaking, trying to figure out what to do next. I called Explore Juneau, hoping to cancel our trip, seeing as we were not able to get to the place of departure. I understood that there was a "no refunds" policy, but I hoped that since this was an outstandingly rare situation, and I had purchased the tickets less than 30 min earlier, they would be generous and work with us. However, that was not the case. I was shocked that common human courtesy was not even offered. They could have offered a partial refund or credit toward a future adventure, but no.
