Newer tribute to Alaska's abundant wildlife legacy. Alaska's residents are proud and very protective of the wildlife. The tour guides regale us with brown bear, grizzly bear, salmon, wolf, seal, and Bald Eagle stories. All which have reported sightings in town. (At least no venomous snake reports) I have not seen whales or bears, etc, but many people talk of whale and bear stories. I have seen abundant Bald Eagles along these waters as this is their fishing grounds. They soar for awhile and then swoop down and pluck their dinner from just below the waters surface. The locals are very proud of the stupendous landscape the they get to enjoy daily. Bright sunny day in June on the day I was in Juneau.

The Whale Project in Juneau, Alaska, is a remarkable tribute to the symbol of Alaskan heritage. The fountain is located in the Seawalk area on the waterfront. The project features an immense bronze sculpture of a single breaching, life-sized whale that is impressive in detail and will spout periodically. This lovely setting offers views of much of Juneau in one direction and some of Douglas Island in the other. There are also some totem poles around, and it's one of the main attractions of Juneau. A nice boardwalk leads back into the town area.

Power. This amazing little park shows the power of nature in its setting and formidable statue of a breaching humpback whale 🐋 but it also shows the power of a community and a few hard working people. This park and the walkway and the magnificent whale statue with a great water feature was all the result of a small group of community and civic minded people. They should really connect this park up with the boardwalk in the harbor for a continuous walkway. My favorite thing was the way the water feature made the...
