UPDATE: when I filed a complain, Wilson lied and lied away. I think its funny how the manager was literally there to ask him to remake the order and so was the check out person yet when they were questioned about the complaint they lied. Terrible service, liars, and totally not worth visiting here for anything. You want good Spanish groceries go to the Mercado on Portage. Avoid this place.
I went in today to order food and left not realizing the food order was incorrect. I went back to speak to the guy who took our order. I told him cordially this is not what we ordered. He immediately gave us an attitude and refused to listen to us. When I tried explaining what we wanted he flat out gave us the receipt and said g9 get your refund!. Confused by his response, I walked over to the cashier and explained what happened. She was so kind and took our full order to bring to the man and explained it would cost a bit more. I was more than happy to pay the difference. She went over and he flat-out denied to make it. The cashier then said he has never done this before and recommended we speak to the manager on site Karina. Karine looked furious and went over to Wilson. He again refused to make our order. Karina and the cashier were able to refund me. However, to refuse our service when we were being respectful to him was absolutely unacceptable. I asked management for his name and she was very hesitant. I told her I was filing a complaint because there was no valid reason why he should treat us like this. She said his name was Wilson. Wilson, how dare you. We came to you to fix things and you literally passover aggressively gave us our receipt, angrily told us to get a refund, and turned your back and walked away. 0 accountability from him. I didn't even yell at him nor curse, we were literally willing to pay the difference but I have no clue why he would be allowed to just deny service because we brought the food back pointing out...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had to update. I went here at least 7 times so far and unfortunately they’re inconsistent.
They don’t have Cebollitas Asadas (Grilled Green Onions) VERY often which is the top reason why I like going there.
The biggest turn over for me was they started to make their tacos so thin.
I’m sorry I don’t know if I want to come back after my previous visit. Absolutely upsetting! 🤦🏻♀️
My original review with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️below.. Their tacos are amazing and so delicious!!
I’d give 5 stars if they had a register at the food court but they don’t so customers have to go to grocery store register and pay there and come back.
Also they don’t speak good English so there’s miscommunication easily like…we ordered 5 de asada & 2 al pastor for us and we somehow got 5 al pastor & 5 de asada. So make sure double check if they got your order right (Do not repeat, they’ll make it double the order so make it right at 1st try..🥲).
They also don't listen when you ask for light sour cream or crispy tortilla..You still get lots of sour cream (I do sour cream on the side now) and they actually made my tortillas crispy once out of 5 times..😅
And I LOVE THEIR MEXICAN GREEN ONIONS😍‼️ I really wish they can sell it on the side (already asked but he said they don’t do it that way) so I can add more for later. The seasoning is so yummy!! I never had Mexican green onions before since it just looked so big etc….but it smelled so good so I gave it a try. Thank God I tried!! I’m in love….😂
At the end of the day their food is amazing! That’s why we’ll come back even though they don’t honor your requests nor has a register. It’s that good! 🤣👍🏼
I was barely able to take a picture for my tacos only when I first went there…after that? I didn’t make it because I was busy eating😂 Had no time to take photos...
Read moreI was a huge fan of this entire establishment, keyword being was Yesterday I called El ranchero looking for a price per pound on beef tongue. They direct me back too the butcher first he pretends he can't speak English and hangs up on me. So I call back and ask is there someone that can speak English so I can get a price per pound on beef tongue? The gentleman proceeds to tell me no. So I say oh really I buy tacos every Friday and have no problem having someone speak English. What's the problem now? Magically he starts speaking English. We continue the same conversation trying to get a price per pound for beef tongue so I can make beef tongue tacos. He says one moment and starts talking to the gentleman that's standing next to him. They start conversing in Spanish, not realizing that I understand some Spanish. Proceeding to call me a stupid white, in Spanish etc etc and then pricing the beef tongue at $79.95 per pound. Laughing the entire time. I laughed it off, I don't care to waste my energy on someone that is racist like that. I'll just leave a review and push on and take my money somewhere else. Which I did right down the street... Business is business. Unfortunately some people don't have morals and are still unfortunately racist. It's 2025. It's time to stop seeing people for their skin color and them as a person. El ranchero, may your establishment and employees receive what they deserve & reap what...
