uBreakiFix - Phone and Computer Repair — Attraction in Kalamazoo

Edit: I took my phone in to them and discussed the issues and they quickly and professionally took care of the issues all under their 1 year warranty for any repairs. My screen now works good as new. Thank you!

I purchased an OLED screen replacement about a month ago for my iPhone 15 from them and when I asked if it would have any issues compared to an authentic OLED Apple verified replacement screen they said, “your blacks will look less black and your whites will look less white” as in the colors will just look a little less bright and vibrant. I then asked about any issues with touch response with the screen or anything OTHER than color issues and they said no. I got my phone back and within a few hours I noticed that I cannot use auto brightness anymore because if my phone has any sunlight on it, it will instantly shut my phone screen off as if I turned it off and when I try to turn it back on (if the sunlight is still on it) it will again instantly shut my screen off until I’m not in sunlight. Another issue I have is that I cannot turn my phone screen on with a touch anymore. Beforehand I use to be able to tap my screen and the screen would light up but now that does not work either. If I knew this would have been an issue I would have paid the extra bit to get an authentic Apple screen but I got told by their team that touch sensory would not be a problem. Very annoyed about it. UPdate: there was a heavyset woman with dark brown hair who offered a refurbished phone. The owner is LYING.

Took in my expensive iphone to be fixed. Was offered a sales pitch to buy a refurbished phone instead, and when I did not take the bait to buy, was told my phone couldn't be fixed since putting in a new battery and charging did not work (two things I could have done on my own). Called one of the other companies in Kalamazoo (remote fixing where a guy comes to your house to fix your electronics) and my phone was fixed in half an hour. I do not understand how this place gets good reviews, but I would not step foot in there again. Not sure why I was given a phony sales pitch either. Perhaps they think small Asian women are fooled easily? Who knows? I also gave the guy named Mason (Cell Medic Phone Repair - Iphone repair in Kalamazoo & Portage) who fixed my phone an extra 35 dollar tip. They have less reviews but somehow managed to fix my phone and provide excellent swift service that was far superior to uBreakiFix. Also, to make things extra aggravating, uBreakiFix put this annoying sticker on the back of my phone which was super difficult to get off after they returned my phone and professed my phone was not able to be fixed. I came to uBreakiFix about two months ago because my phone randomly shut off and wouldn’t turn back on. I wasn’t sure what the issue was, so I brought it in hoping they could figure it out. They told me they couldn’t diagnose the problem unless they replaced the screen first, which made no sense to me—but I trusted them, so I went ahead and paid nearly $200 for a new screen.

After replacing the screen, they finally told me the “real” problem was that my battery was completely fried and that my phone would only work for about a week before dying again. That was frustrating to hear, especially after already paying so much for a screen I apparently didn’t even need. But I figured at least I’d get a little more time out of the phone.

Fast forward to now—two months later—and my battery is still working just fine. But guess what’s NOT working? The screen they replaced. It’s already starting to fail again. So not only did they misdiagnose the issue, but they also gave me a faulty screen replacement. I basically spent $200 for no reason and now have to deal with the same problem all over again.

To me, it felt like they were guessing more than diagnosing. I wouldn’t trust them again, and I’d strongly recommend going somewhere else where they actually take the time to figure out what’s wrong instead of throwing expensive “solutions” at you that...
