My husband and I have had our eyes on this place for months. The high reviews is what helped me decide, finally, to go for it. Unfortunately it wasn't at all why we expected.
The smoked Mac and cheese was grainy. The sauce wasn't smooth at all, the pasta was soggy, and there was no seasoning in it. It honestly tasted like an old batch. There were chunks of smoked cheddar in it, and those were questionable at first, but it couldn't save the dish.
The chicken sandwiches were so thin--I expected a better quality cut for what we paid. It was an okay sandwich, but it didn't meet the expectations I had.
The burger was so dry, stiff, and had no season on it. They say they don't freeze their meats, but it tasted like it was a frozen patty. The truffle aioli sauce was pretty, good though. But the burger as a whole not at all. I am not sure what happened the day we ordered, but it was nothing like the reviews boast about.
The hotdogs were good. The bun was tender, and the toppings were fresh. I do wish the hotdog was cooked a little longer, though.
The only saving grace were the parmesan truffle fries, which everyone in my family loved. The fries were crispy, fully of flavor, and looked beautiful. I may have to go in just to get those, but man the portion was small for the price.
My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her fried chicken. I didn't try it myself, but if she liked it, it must have been good.
If the quality of the food isn't going to hold up to the standard, then it is a shame to charge so much for the food. I understand the appeal of the "quality" of the meat, but on this day, it wasn't at all what they...
Read moreThe young lady at the counter was very polite but seemed very timid and unsure of herself. We waited about 40 minutes, only to be told that this girl had given our order to another customer. We had prepaid for a movie, and we had allowed ourselves time to get something to eat. However, after finally getting our order, we were already going to be late to the movie (to the tune of$24). We take our bag and leave, to hopefully get to the theater in time that we weren't going to miss much. We started with the fries, but they were so heavily salted that we couldn't eat them. I opened my burger wrapper, to see that NOTHING was right about it. I said NO sauce, NO cheese, NO condiments, except mayo. I only wanted deluxe plus onion. I had pickles, CHEESE and ketchup... On both buns. It was too late to go back so i tried it anyway. I couldn't even eat it. The hamburger itself didn't taste good even. I was shocked that we just spent $30 for this kind of headache! My husband, whose burger was actually made to order, didn't care for his burger at all either. The patty was about as thin as a McDonald's burger, only 5x the cost. Also, while waiting, one of the cooks had left to go buy buns! We truly don't ever care to return. For your money, you get a better value and better...
Read moreLOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Food has always been hot and the girls working the register are friendly. The first time my BF and I stopped in on a whim and shared a Chicken Sandwich (this was huge and juicy but not a lot of flavor/seasoning), a Lake Bacon Burger & a parmesan truffle fry. OHMYWORD that burger was so juicy and the fries were so flavorful. Delicious! Made us go back the next night! We called for takeout and it was hot and ready when we got there - we added a strawberry shake to our original order. YUM again! 3rd time my fellow work employees wanted to try so I called at 11:20 and was informed they are no longer taking orders via phone. Hmfph. I drove there and placed the order for 5 burgers (3 double Lake burgers, 2 Lake bacon cheeseburgers) and 4 fries (3 original which are with just sea salt, and one crab which is coated with Old Bay seasoning). Order was ready in 13 minutes and only 1 was wrong (person wanted only mustard and though it was on the receipt as such, there was ketchup added). Most enjoyed the burger though they weren't as impressed with the fries which today, seemed to be a bit soggy and limp. I'm a fan. Ran into my favorite local foodie Otto P Beagle there upon pickup today. If Otto likes it, it's a for...
