Classic Cinemas Meadowview XQ — Attraction in Kankakee

EVERYTHING about this theater was miles above our experience at the mall theater last month. Meadowview remodeled the entire place, and it is fantastic. The tickets are easy to order online, from the kiosk or at the concessions counter. The popcorn is tasty and fresh, AND, they still offer free refills!! The seats aren't as wide as other theaters, but they're comfortable, they recline all the way back, and there's a hidden foot support that extends when the chair reclines. The aisles are far enough apart to be able to walk without disturbing others. We were in Theater #1, and the screen was huge and the picture was crystal clear. The surround sound was phenomenal. Some of the bass in the fight scenes could be felt through the seats. An excellent experience. We will definitely be back to this theater!! I wish they would be a little more diligent about cracking down on cell phone use. People clearly don't think about the people around them, who are bothered by cell phone light in a dark theater. If you can't live without your cell phone for 2 hours, maybe the theater isn't the place to go. The employees do address problems if you go to them, but they just keep asking people to put it away. Repeatedly. I think that after one warning, people should be asked to leave, without a refund. There are ads prior to the movie that tell people to put their cell phone away. People just ignore it, like they do warnings...

Used to be my favorite theater! Unfortunately it has been getting worse and worse every time I go! Tonight was unacceptable!

The biggest issue is cleanliness! There are 6 employees around the counter and in the main area EVERY garbage can was completely full and garbage buckets and drinks were spilling out all over the floor! None of the employees were doing anything!

The bathrooms no toilet paper at all! I was hoping by the end of the movie maybe something would have been done..2hours and 15 minutes later worse!!! In fact one of the employees were hanging out with their friends (who were sneaking in multiple movies) jumped from our theater and when I went to the restroom in the middle of the movie I saw them messing around and going in the theater 2 doors away!!

The cashier was not at all friendly, No greeting not even a “your welcome enjoy your movie!” Did not even respond when my child said thank you!! You need someone who has customer support experience or a personality to be the face of your business!

So you have a bunch of young kids working together! No structure and it isn’t working out! Something needs to be done! This is a theater not a teen meet up!! It is a place that I value and I know tonight if there were people who saw it the way it was they would not come back! It is on a slippery slope and upper management needs to get a real adult manager to get back structure before it...

I visited the theater on July 20th at 9:55pm to see The Smurfs movie with my husband and two kids. While the nachos and drink were good, the overall experience was extremely disappointing.

First, the cashier (receipt said her name was Joleen) had a very unpleasant attitude. She wasn’t welcoming at all, gave us dirty looks, and honestly seemed like she hated her job. Not a great first impression.

We purchased tickets for seats 9–12 in Row G, but we couldn’t even sit in them because they were covered in popcorn and smeared nacho cheese. We tried moving to the row in front of us, but it was just as dirty. Popcorn was all over the floor and seats, and the entire area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all.

As we left, we noticed two workers standing at the welcome station just talking, completely ignoring the huge mess throughout the theater. Popcorn littered the hallways, trash cans were overflowing, and the bathrooms were filthy with toilet paper all over the floor.

I don’t know how this theater has good reviews for cleanliness. The lack of care, both in cleanliness and customer service, really ruined what should have been a fun family outing. I hope management takes this seriously and makes...
