The Children's Foundation is an adorable little sometimes quiet spot nestled in an unexpected area... near some busy streets North Oak and Highway 9. For many years my small children loved running around the fountain circle and letting the wind blow the fountain water spay on them. As they have grown up 5 years I am now able to enjoy the peaceful space instead of tirelessly chasing down running children that are escaping.

The many statues of the children on display show great details in the faces and hair of each child and they are all unique, as children are. Each child is displaying/exhibiting showing off a different activity/sport/pose/talent. It is like they are dancing on their pedestal forever enjoying the moment with their friends.

There are many benches for sitting and listening to the birds, the fountain, laughing children or the sounds of thunder just before you know the rain will pour. There are plaques for dedication of trees and on the benches as well. The walk way is nice and paved with many different flowers in bloom to brighten the area with: red, yellow, orange and white to contrast all the green grass, trees and bushes.

There is a good deal of parking and I have never seen this park crowded or more than 5 other people for that matter. There are NOT any: bathrooms, picnic tables or shelter houses so it is NOT for parties, family reunions or cook outs. This is a simple place to relax a while, enjoy nature, smell the flowers then head home.

I recommend taking a moment to stop and enjoy the children, they are waiting. If you are creative and have a great imagination they can put on a...

Really cool fountain, only unfortunate part about it is it's only a fountain. There isn't a nice place to walk around and explore the grounds. With that being said the fountain itself is pretty cool. Since Kansas City is the city of fountains it would be a cool one to drop by...

Cool little park but it is loud due to proximity to a major highway through North Kansas City that commuters use to get from North Kansas City to downtown. The last time I was there the fountain was extremely dirty or it would get a higher...

This is a really cool fountain! Every single time I've gone past... I've stopped! It's really cool to see, & today it happened to be green in support of Mental Health Awareness Month! Check it out!

Stopped by here on one of the hottest days of the year. The park is pretty, and so is the fountain...but when I approached it closer I noticed how dirty the water was and how much it smelled.
