Kroger Store #146 you should really be ashamed of the way you treat your dedicated employees. My husband has been a loyal Kroger employee for 20 years, recently transferring from Ohio to Texas. Since relocating in 2020, our experience with this Kroger location has been disappointing, to say the least. The lack of respect and support from management is deeply troubling, especially given my husbandās unwavering dedication. He has only taken less than 4 days off in 20 yearsāeven when heās genuinely unwellāhe worked through the entire pandemic with zero days off! Yet management continually assigns him the most challenging shifts, literally treats him like dirt, without regard for work-life balance. Itās affecting our family and marriage, and itās heartbreaking to see the toll itās taken on someone so committed to his job.
One of the biggest issues is the complete absence of effective communication and respect. Back in Ohio, we were kept in the loop on company news and union updates through UnionWize. Here, management doesnāt even mention community events, let alone acknowledge my husbandās efforts. Despite being a dedicated worker, heās often overlooked, harassed, while other workers who do not work hard do not get the same treatment.
Itās also disgusting to witness how management interacts with my husband. Iāve seen them walk past my husband and others without a simple greeting, acting as though their employees are merely there to perform without any human connection. Management constantly interrupt his breaks, seemingly harassing him for being the dedicated, hard-working person he is. Itās demoralizing for someone who has given so much to this company. This treatment makes us wonder if certain biases are at play, given that my husband is among the hardest workers there.
The contrast with his experience in Ohio is stark. There, managers were personable, supportive, and created a positive work environment. Itās disappointing to see Kroger treat their employees so poorly here. We urge Krogerās leadership to prioritize respectful, compassionate management practices and provide proper training to. management. Every employee deserves to be valued for their dedication, and I really hope the company president does something soon! This is appalling behavior! It's sad my husband works here but I would rather support HEB than shop at Kroger. My husband has dedicated half of his life to an employer who doesn't even know anything about him or his family! I pray that God does something about this treatment because it's truly sad and ridiculous behavior and totally...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have never written a review in my life - but this store and company is an absolute SCAM. I bought a 100$ Home Depot giftcard there for my husband and when we went to use it a week later, the card was impossible to get out of the cardboard as it was glued in. We had assumed it was due to the heat in the Kroger warehouse before purchasing and thought nothing more. When went to the cashier at Home Depot she was unable to see the pin due to the glue and paper from the cardboard and proceeded to scrape at it, stating that without the pin it couldnāt be used and theyāve had this issue with gift cards purchased at Kroger for Fatherās Day. She stated they were unable to use the card, advised us to call Kroger and we paid for our purchase with our regular credit card. We then filed a report with Kroger for refund. When I called back for a status update, they stated the card had already been used so the refund was denied and to contact Home Depot. Knowing we had not used the card, I contacted Home Depot who confirmed the card was used less than 24 hours after I purchased it in a store weāve never been to. The associate stated it is a scam that Kroger is well aware of where gift cards are opened and the card # and pin # are sold and the card gets glued back up until activated by the store. Home Depot is submitting a fraud case however needed a physical receipt not the activation receipt I kept so I call Kroger and somehow the loyalty card we have is registered to nothing despite us swiping, using the phone number and receiving benefits from the card for almost 1 year. After 3 hours of the phone, they could only send me transcripts of my transaction and not a receipt and also included someone elseās transaction and told me to ājust edit it out.ā Kroger is aware of the gift card scams and has done nothing to remedy it or advocate for their āloyalācustomers to receive refunds. DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS OR SIGN UP FOR LOYALTY FROM KROGER because...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store is by far the closest to my house, so I shop there maybe twice a week. Most times I spend $250-$350 in total groceries. That being said, Iām really disappointed when Iāve spent that much amount of money and the strawberries (I bought them two days ago) are moldy and the yogurts I bought are expired, it really upsets me. Conveniently the expired yogurts are placed in the front so that customers can pick them up and take them home, Iām guessing. You also always have to flip the strawberry, blueberry and raspberry fresh fruit containers to make sure they are not rotten, which most times there are several containers of berries that are rotting. I bought two containers of the golden kiwis and the kiwis were rotten. They do come in a plastic container with a cardboard label, but isnāt anyone checking when those items were brought in the store and realize they havenāt sold?
I also buy fish every week and on ocasión shrimp. The last time I bought shrimp, it smelled terrible when I defrosted it. Terrible.
Iām not sure who is managing the store, but they are doing a terrible job. I hate spending a lot of money, just to throw my groceries out in the garbage.
Oh, and the lady employee that was organizing the grapes a few weeks back...stop eating and organizing the grapes.
Honestly, I will just have to find another place to shop and stop giving Kroger my money. Really...
