I had the pleasure of attending a Katy Community event on September 2, 2023, at the Leonard E. Merrell Center, and I am delighted to share my experience. This was my first time visiting this location, and it left a lasting impression.
The event was nothing short of fantastic, with a well-organized setup that featured numerous vendors. My mom and I had a great time exploring the diverse range of booths, each offering something unique and valuable. From freebies to valuable information, we walked out with an abundance of resources and goodies that made the visit even more rewarding.
One particular display caught my eye during the event, which led me to a furniture store afterward. The event's ability to spark my interest and guide me to explore related businesses is a testament to its effectiveness in bringing together various community members and resources.
The event showcased a wide array of vendors, and it was evident that a lot of thought and effort went into curating the lineup. It provided an opportunity for local businesses and organizations to connect with the community and share their offerings.
The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and I felt that the event was a true reflection of the vibrant Katy community. It was not just a gathering of vendors but also an opportunity for neighbors to come together, interact, and discover valuable resources.
In conclusion, my first visit to the Leonard E. Merrell Center for the Katy Community event was a memorable one. The event's well-organized setup, diverse vendor selection, and the wealth of information and freebies made it a valuable experience. I look forward to attending more events at this location in the future and exploring all that the Katy community has to offer. Kudos to the organizers for their hard work...
Read moreTraveled to Merrell Center for 10:00 a.m. graduation for Foster High. Access to this center by auto is awful. Hundreds of people were directed to parking approx. 1-mile+ away from the center. Saw elderly people pushing other handicap people in wheel chairs. Saw lady on crutches struggling to navigate the +++ distance from the parking area to the center. Absolutely no thought of accommodating the elderly, handicapped, etc. My wife, who is 68 years old with bad ankles/hips could not make the walking distance to the center. Needless to say, we missed the graduation. Also, whoever coordinated the event obviously grossly under estimated the potential attendance. Understand they had to prevent hundreds of other from entering the center due to being filled to maximum capacity. Many others still stuck in traffic. Appears they also missed the once in a lifetime event. Bottom line: poor planning, poor access, poor accommodations, poor thought for others............ Think having to go both to the Irs and Social Security offices on...
Read moreMy daughter graduated yesterday from B.F. Terry High School & I missed this one in a life time moment to see her graduate. I left home 2 hours prior & arrived to only be told that they were not letting anyone else in. This was very heart breaking for a mother. I had my shirt on that I had made that said " proud mom of a senior" and would think that they would at least let me in. My cousin who made it in had 5 seats available for me & the family to sit & still like that they said it was full. I would not recommend anyone to plan an event here. They don't care if you are sick on crutches or disabled etc...They would not even allow my mother to go in just to use the bathroom. They have graduations here all the time & you would think that they would plan better or at least notify people in advance that they will be closing doors at 7pm...
