Midway BBQ — Restaurant in Katy

Today was my first time there and it was amazing and arrived at 11:28AM. I was greeted by a young blonde girl who was very friendly. The restaurant is very clean inside and they have awesome decorations all inside.

The gentlemen behind the counter did a phenomenal job and were very fast and efficient. Everyone had a very friendly and positive attitude. I ordered a half pound of pork and beef sausage with a side of pork rinds.

My server was named Desiree E and she made my experience wonderful by providing excellent customer service. She was friendly and professional. I would like to thank Midway Barbeque for being able to hire such amazing staff.

Make sure to ask for Desiree when you visit because she is professional, courteous and will make your visit exceptional on top of the amazing tasting food.

Y'all truly have an amazing asset to the restaurant, and I know she would make a great manager if she is not already one.

Hopefully you are able to share these comments with the staff who were on duty today because they rocked!!!!!!

The sausage was cooked perfectly and the flavor was delicious. It wasn't that lunch meat type either, the sausage had a course texture to it. I then had the pork rinds and the flavor was out of this world and they were not greasy or over cooked. Oh and I got some dill pickles that were very tasty along with some unsweetened tea.

It was refreshing and very fresh unlike some places where the tea is stale.

If you are reading this message do your taste buds a favor and head to this establishment before they close. You will not be sorry as I look forward to trying other items.

Ok first I went here at 7:30pm on a Friday. Not on an off day. People who write best BBQ in TX, have not tried many other places. I ordered 2 3 meat platters, ribs, port, brisket. One with mashed and fries one with cole slaw and a side salad.

The good: Good size green salad for one side. Nothing special at all. BBQ sauce is decent, a little spicy which is nice.

The bad: Ribs were tasty if they were not so fatty it would be a different review I would say 70% meat 30% fat. Much fattier than any other ribs i have eaten. and they are dry. Pork was very fatty. Not shredded but port roast type. I would say 50% meat to fat ratio. Brisket was UN-EDIBLE. Dry, tough and flavorless, if it were not for the smoke flavor i would say i was eating my shoe. And they give you more brisket then anything! Dry again and good for our dog. French fries are deep fried HEB frozen type sprinkled with season salt. Not bad in general but absolutely nothing special. Mashed potatoes again no flavor and dry. They are so hard it was like TX clay from the yard.

To summarize if you like fat, bland and dry food this place is for you. I will not...

Don’t waste your money or time.

We ordered the chicken friend chicken and it had NO FLAVOR, just chicken I tried to dip it in the gravy but the gravy didn’t have flavor either.

Also ordered the two meat plate with ribs and sausage and guess what it was COLD. I told the cook that my husband didn’t complain until he was done eating because he’s not the one to complain. The cook asked what he ordered and I explained and he didn’t say anything. Didn’t seem to care not even oh I’m sorry about that, nothing.

There was another lady who checked on everyone except for us. She saw us but didn’t ask, not that she was going back to work and that’s why she missed us she just went back to talking to her coworkers.

BANANA pudding was terrible. I tried exchanging it because I explained that it was thick like jelloton and watery/ foamy on top (seemed old). Lady I spoke to was looking at me as if I shouldn’t be complaining or asking for an exchange. I was able to exchange it for a pie because another gentleman jumped into the conversation saying sorry about her and about the pudding.
