Kendall Indian Hammocks Park: A Hidden Gem for Family Fun!
Our family recently explored Kendall Indian Hammocks Park, and we were all thoroughly impressed! It's a fantastic place to spend quality time together and enjoy the beauty of nature, right in the heart of Kendall.
Here's what we loved about the park:
Perfect for All Ages: The park offers something for everyone. We enjoyed easy walks on the nature trails, while the kids had a blast exploring the playground equipment. There's even a skate park for older children and teenagers.
Nature Escape: Despite being in the city, the park offers a surprising escape into nature. The lush greenery and shady trails provided a welcome respite from the Florida sunshine. We even spotted some interesting wildlife, which added to the excitement for the kids.
Family Activities: There's plenty of space for families to spread out and have a picnic, play frisbee, or just relax under the trees. We also noticed there are pavilions available for rent, which would be perfect for a birthday party or family gathering.
Something for Everyone: The park caters to a variety of interests. In addition to the trails, playground, and skate park, there's also a baseball field if your family enjoys sports. We saw people walking their dogs on designated paths, and there's even a disc golf course for those who want to try something new.
Overall:
Kendall Indian Hammocks Park is a fantastic hidden gem for families in Kendall. It offers a great way to spend quality time together, enjoy nature, and create lasting memories. We highly recommend checking it out!

Read moreGreat park with plenty of space for walking and exploring. I have a few gripes, no pedestrian walkway while entering or a safe place to cross the street on SW 107th Ave, no basketball court, even though the school that looks like it's on county land has an adjacent set of courts, no dog park area. A little frustrating since they've invested in less popular sports like skateboarding and frisbee golf. Miami Dade Parks department needs to up their efforts and think about parks users when investing.
12/14/24 update: revising & removing 2 stars, since after visiting multiple times realizing how the park is not divided fairly and is planned badly.
There's no basketball courts my son can safely get to himself (the ones the high school has are locked) & no place in this huge park for dogs.
Miami parks planning is broken.
From someone coming from NY, this is crazy how far you have to drive to get to parks with the basics you're looking for. Also nuts that barely any splash pads in a county that gets really hot for lots of months a year, bad for physical well being of kids and a clear middle finger to kids and health & parents. Basically signaling to keep them indoors or in organized/paid activities on fixed schedules, just like a Karen.
Perfect example of the "Tragedy of The...
Read moreAlthough I have not been to this park I don’t think….my memory is unscrambling and unfogging, bear with me. I have had the honor of teaching students from the Kendall area. These kids are extremely smart and aware. This kids are polite and respectful and I would highly recommend them for professional opportunities. Recently, I was tutoring one at the South Branch regional library and let me tell you….he has the potential to go very far in life. He is one of the smartest young men I have ever had the honor of working with and the college that has accepted him is very lucky. Now unfortunately his school failed him due to the high turnover rate of math teachers, and from what I guage…judgmental peers. The school needs to get its act together QUICK to teach the staff and the student body about adversity and how to treat each other. Shame on that school for not taking better care of a student with so much potential. Fix your system. You could be a powerhouse of greatness. Tell your kids to let go of their ego and support each other. Unreal. I could go on and on (DJ KHALED style)….but I rest my case. Anyway, Kendall is...
