The Palace Suites has not only changed mom's life for the better but my own as well, by dramatically lowering my stress level! When it was time for mom to move out of her house two years ago, she initially relocated into a different senior living establishment in Kendall. Without going into the specifics, that experience did at least serve the purpose of highlighting the sharp contrast with The Palace Suites; I am beyond grateful for all the ways that The Palace Suites staff does an absolutely magnificent and comprehensive job of caring for the residents and their families.
The culture of compassion starts with the executive director, Giulia Covella. Giulia initially met with me and wanted to know as much about mom as possible in order to best address her needs. From the beginning, we have had open and transparent communication. We became even better acquainted at the new residents family dinner, and I was again struck by how Giulia cares for her staff and the residents like extended family. Warm and engaging, yet entirely professional - she sets the tone.
And the staff is just as exceptional. Mom thinks of Vanessa as her new BFF, as Vanessa helps mom navigate the social scene to find her "people," which is definitely no easy task. Not only does she clearly enjoy the challenge, but she also manages to find mom's quirks endearing. Gissella, the "cruise director," has somehow managed to get mom, a notorious non-participant, to engage in activities like flower arranging. Vanessa and Gissella also regularly send me photos of mom having fun.
Whenever I've emailed Natalia regarding mom's medical issues or care, I get a phone call back almost immediately. She truly cares about mom and has coordinated therapists so that mom's health issues are best addressed, while optimizing her insurance coverage. Dr. Trescott has not only gone above-and-beyond to attend to mom's specific needs, but she has given me extremely practical and sanity-saving advice on how to navigate some of the challenges facing mom (and me) as she ages. Chris at the concierge area not only manages the reception area efficiently, but also takes the time to be especially friendly and welcoming to mom. And Emily! My go-to person whenever I have a question or need some help... even when I've had a small billing inquiry, she's responded on her day off! I've had nothing but pleasant interactions with so many staff members, and the best part is that one can feel not only the camaraderie amongst the staff but also how much everyone loves what they do! That can't be faked - it is genuine, and the atmosphere at The Palace is imbued with this good will.
Before The Palace Suites, I felt that mom was lurching from one crisis to another, with my constantly having to intervene for her safety and well-being. And now, I am finally able to relax, knowing that she is receiving the best possible care from a truly dedicated, warm, trustworthy, and professional staff who are doing everything possible to enhance the lives of the residents AND their families. As mom and I meet more of the staff, we have the comfort of knowing they are an extension of the leadership team members I’ve highlighted and we are in very good hands with the whole integrated team. We South Floridians have long heard that The Palace is the gold standard in senior care, and previously I wondered whether the reputation was just hype. Turns out that the kudos are well deserved and for me and my mom at least, the reality...
Read moreAfter we lost my dad, we knew my mom needed more support—but we also knew she wasn’t ready to slow down. She’s still active, social, and full of life. What she needed was a place where she could feel safe, connected, and cared for without losing all of her independence. We found all of that—and more—at The Palace in Kendall.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt something different. The warmth, the elegance, and above all, the people. Every nurse, caregiver, and staff member has treated my mom with genuine kindness and respect. They see her for who she is: a strong, vibrant woman navigating a new chapter—not just a resident on a list.
The care team is attentive and compassionate, always going the extra mile to make sure she feels comfortable, included, and dignified. Whether it’s a friendly check-in, an engaging activity, or just sharing a laugh, the staff has become an extension of our family.
The peace of mind the palace has given us is priceless. My mom has a beautiful home surrounded by people who care about her—and I have the comfort of knowing she’s safe, supported, and never alone.
The Palace in Kendall isn’t just a senior living community. It’s a place where people are treated with heart. I couldn’t be more grateful.
I’d like to extend a special thanks to Terri Romano, Matthew and Vanessa in the office, Rose (RN), Sofi (Aide), and the other beautiful aide with green eyes that always says...
Read moreThe amazing staff at The Palace Suites in Kendall has gone over and beyond my family’s expectations in making sure our mother felt welcomed and fully supported while she moved in last month. From the management to the sales, transition, dining and front office staff to housekeeping and maintenance, everyone has been 100% on board in making sure mom’s needs are fully taken care of. The communication with the family has been amazing and any questions or issues are quickly addressed. I also want to mention how we all appreciate the open, warm and caring disposition of all who work there. Smiles are always waiting for you when you walk in the door. Most importantly, mom has transitioned beautifully and is taking full advantage of the delicious meals, activities and outings. She’s even exercising, something we thought we’d never see. The monthly friends and family events can’t be missed! So much fun and there is tons of entertainment, food and drinks galore! Kudos to all your dedication to ensuring your residents ( and supporting families) have a 5...
