Normally this is a fair place to shop for my gaming desires. My most recent visit was a completely different experience and it left a bad taste with how I feel about this location specifically. I typically like to buy my games sealed if I'm paying a new price so I always ask for sealed copies before commiting to purchase. When I took up my selections to the associate named Zack he gave off the vibe that I was no more than an annoyance rather than someone who was prepared to give my money to. I asked if he had sealed copies and he pretty much ignored me while he finished whatever it was he was doing on the computer. Not even a "just a sec" or any acknowledgement that I was even talking to him. Eventually he took the sealed copies of two of the games from the drawer and tossed them onto the counter like they were trash. These are things I'm wanting to buy and that's how the items are treated? Grocery stores treat apples better at check-out than this. The final one came in a paper box and I asked him if there was any in the drawer that were in a little better condition (box was completely tarnished.) It's hard to describe attitudes but the vibe he gave off while telling me no was that my asking him that question had set him so far behind and my even coming up to the counter to have any type of requests was completely unruly and unreasonable. The manager (or whom I would assume is; cause he's there whenever I go in) was stuck on the phone or I'd probably just have asked him to help me instead of this Zack guy. Point is, I left after letting Zack know I was sorry for bothering him. I ended up not buying anything from GameStop that day. I thought it was pretty cruddy that I'd probably get better customer service from an Amazon help portal than a real-life person. I'll probably be searching elsewhere for games despite this usually being my first stop when on the hunt for something...
Read moreI stopped at this Gamestop today, because I wanted to pick up No More Heroes 3 on Switch. I ended up picking up some used PS4 games too.
One of the games I picked up was "Yakuza Like A Dragon", because they had the steelbook version for forty dollars, which is a pretty good deal. (It is rare to find anything at a Gamestop you would call a deal.) The tag on the used copy clearly said steelbook.
After I purchased my games, I went home and discovered that the copy I had was not the steelbook. At first, I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt that this was somehow an honest mistake, but I'm going to explain how I know this was INTENTIONAL.
The other two games were both in their original cases, because they still had the stickers saying USED and the prices on them. The Yakuza Like A Dragon case had no stickers on it. Furthermore, the other two games were both in sleeves, while the Yakuza game was placed directly in the case. The clerk had to do several things differently, and intentionally switch out the case, in order to give me the wrong case.
I've bought steelbook versions of games at Gamestop before, and this has never happened. The last time, the clerk even told me I was getting a good deal on the steelbook. This is seriously the most disgusting thing a retail employee has ever done to me. It is the equivalent of stealing from the customer. If I thought it was a mistake, I wouldn't have cared that much. The problem is the clerk very obviously did this on purpose, and it makes me feel violated, like he stole from me. I obviously can't trust clerks in the future, and have to be suspicious...
Read moreSmall store, but they have a great selection of games, and gaming related items. My son and I spent quite a bit of time here browsing ps4 games and Funko Pops. They had a much better selection of Pop figures than I've seen at other stores (and good prices/sales on them).
I don't recall being greeted when we came into the store, and we weren't asked at any point of we needed assistance finding anything (which was kind of odd, but not a huge deal. Staff were helping other customers and then chatting amongst themselves). On the flip-side, it was nice to not have high-pressure "customer service" and shop in peace.
When we were ready to check out though, the man that helped us with that was really nice and even let us know that one of the games we were purchasing was available as used (discounted price).
Overall, I would definitely recommend this store to others, and will be a...
