First impression- restaurant was semi clean and many lights were burned out. Some staff in uniforms and smocks, some in tshirts and basketball shorts with dirty baseball caps. Google listed close time as 9:30 but close time on the door was 8:50. We arrived at 8:30 so this was a bummer.
Within 10 minutes of sitting down, a staff member in street clothing came to the table and said we had to order right then because the kitchen was closing. I hadn't read the menu yet so I felt really awkward and asked for another minute to make a choice. He stared at me for probably 30-60 seconds waiting for me to tell him my order and then walked away. Next staff member arrived in uniform to do the same about 30 seconds later upon which both my partner and I just read random things off the menu to make the strange process conclude. This poor waitress didn't know any of the menu items. She was so kind but couldn't pronounce the food and seemed really nervous. No big deal.
Check is tossed onto the table about 2-3 minutes later before the food ever comes out.
Food arrives and there are 5 rolls which was the amount we ordered but we cannot discern if it's what we originally ordered because all looks vastly different from what was in the photos. We were able to figure out which was supposed to be which, but the actual food was MILES AWAY from the menu descriptions and it seemed like the kitchen staff assumed we would be too stupid to notice that they just filled every roll with crab stick and mashed avocado rather than the ingredients that were supposed to be in the rolls.
To avoid further problems, we ate the $12.99 rolls without complaint and as we were trying to rush to finish our meal, doors were locked and lights turned off around us. After a 15% tip for the waitress who seemed to try really hard and did her best, we paid $65.00 for...
Read moreFood is usually fine at this restaurant we probably order from them twice a month but they constantly forget to give you things you order I’ve tried to call before and there’s little to no empathy about the mistake so it occurred again today I called and the woman I assume owns or manages Osakas gets into a full blown argument with me that she put those things in the bag so I explained that I was unpacking the bag of food and the items are definitely not in the bag she then does a 180 and says oh I forget I’m only human I said I understand things happen I’m just pointing out it’s happened to me a lot what can we do about the items missing initial response is I’ll give them to you next time so my response is I don’t think I’ll be back in because of the confrontation over the items missing to begin with she says I’ll refund a dollar…….. at no point is this person in this interaction even remotely close to apologizing for the mistake that has been made on a regular occurrence at this establishment with take out, so bummed out that I can’t go back on pure principle with the lack of customer service from this place it’s astonishing I didn’t want a refund I wanted 1% of empathy for it being inconvenient for me to drive back for my items Osaka’s Teriyaki...
Read moreI went into Osaka to have dinner tonight after work, when I walked in the hostess was no where to be found. I waited for a couple of minutes (no big deal) she came over and asked me for my “takeout order” I told her I would rather dine in. She then asked if I was sure I didn’t want take out. I asked her if it was too late to dine in and she responded no so I told her again that I would like to dine in. She said ok, and sat me at a booth. I then sat there for almost 15 minutes without the server coming over. She was up by the sushi bar just chatting with the chef, there was 3 other tables so it’s not like they were super busy. She clearly saw me sitting there and I put the menu on the end of the table so she new I was ready. Still no service, I got up and left. I was very disappointed because sushi was sounding really good for dinner. I’m not really sure why this happened, maybe it was a fluke but I definitely would not recommend the place. This was my first time and will be my last time trying to eat at Osaka...
