This was one of the first skateparks built in Washington State. In 1993, local skaters put on their button-ups and approached the city council to propose the idea. The City of Kennewick responded by generosity donating the land to the project. Fundraising was done through a matching grant between the state and local skaters who held fundraising events and solicited local business support. This park was finished in 1996 which helped blaze a trail for many parks across the state that followed. Major complements to the City of Kennewick for showing it cares not only for the average baseball/soccer/football player, but that it also is looking out for the skateboard/bike/scooter community and has done a fantastic job of keeping this skatepark alive. It’s clean, well kept up, and located in a low traffic area. There are normally a dozen kids using it during most hours. I loved it when I was a kid and it’s great watching my own kids beg to go. It’s mellow and challenging. I agree with the other reviewers who mention it could use some new features. It would be amazing to see the city renew its support of our youth to keep this park relevant and to be enjoyed for...
Read moreThe more hospitable skatepark of the 3 here in Tri-Cities. It is ,however, severely lacking in design and obstacles to skate. It feels like it was designed and built by people who know little to nothing about skateboarding. But the skaters there are very friendly and welcoming. And the athletic fields make certain times to skate strange because unattended children running around in the skatepark make it hard to skate. But the skaters are all great and inviting people. Unlike the Richland park where everyone is kinda a jerk and the lurkers there are actually really bad...

Nice that on 100+ degree days kids are having heat stroke due to the city not providing...
