The old Taco John's location. IMHO the switch from franchise chain to mom & pop biz is a step up. Very nice fresh coat of paint and some minor restoration of interior but restroom flooring (at least for men's) may need some tile repair/replacement. If you are familar with West Coast taquerias doing Tex-Mex food, you know what to expect. If you speak norteamericano/Mexican Spanish or at least some Spanglish, you will have great service. If you are not familiar and you don't know a bit of Spanish, you might be disappointed &/or run into some language barriers.
We were here during the lull after the lunch rush. I asked for a Surf & Turf (Mar Y Tierra) hack to their shrimp burrito and it was fantastic. Wife ordered carne asada fries.
Some houseflies in the dining area - please consider restaurant bug zappers &/or fly tape.
Orale mis amigos hispanohablantes - que rico comida tejano al estilo casero. Es más chido que Taco John's, en serio.
To my other friends- please give this place a try.. it is basically a good taqueria. They don't seem to have the finances El Sazón has right now, but give it time. It really is IMHO an improvement over Taco John's.. dunno about comparison's to Richland's Tumbleweeds, but I'm a longtime resident of Kennewick and I'm glad for Muchas Gracias stepping in providing a Tex-Mex fast...
Read moreOh my GOODNESS! A-MAZ-ING tacos!! Super nice employees and owners. My name actually is Karen so I'm sure they were nervous when I called but it was just to compliment them (and hopefully redeem my name from the internet toilet, LOL). I just went through the Drive-Thru so I didn't see inside but it was fast and they were patient with me as I stumbled to order the right stuff. Next time I'll stop in and compliment them again. So many places we've tried tacos for Taco Tuesday, sooo many, by a longshot these guys have THE best! There's so much flavor you don't even need their salsa to kick it up a notch. Having said that, the salsa is also uniquely flavored. Stop in today or turn your Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, every day into Taco Tuesday. Ugh, wish I needed a job. I could market these to any skeptic. Yes, they're that good. Perfect balance of flavors, fresh foliage (as I call it), and texture for all you foodies to enjoy. I personally promise, and I was not paid to say this and have no affiliation with the business, that you will not be disappointed. If you are, you're probably an internet Karen. LOL Great job! Outstanding all the way around. Support local businesses and get yourself some of their street tacos today! Grumble tummy We might need to go get some...
Read moreI have eaten at Muchas Gracias restaurants over on the west side. I was excited to have one come to our area. And this is a rough area for Mexican restaurants: loads of competition and a huge variety of dishes. Prices can be anywhere from extremely reasonable to expensive. Muchas Gracias was always good food that wasn’t too expensive. I thought we would try our local MG. I ordered the tamale side dish and my daughter had the cheese quesadilla. I settled on a side dish knowing, too, that MG on the west side served big portions. Even our local MG didn’t disappoint with size. My daughter’s quesadilla didn’t sit well with her: there was a lot of oil from the cheese. Otherwise it tasted good and was a good size for the price. My beef tamales were very good. They had a good amount of meat in them; they weren’t mostly masa. The enchilada sauce was actually really tasty. There was some pico de gallo and lettuce with the tamales, but I was full after just the tamales. For 2 tamales, it was a good price and filling. The atmosphere and service was great. Friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and the food was prepared quickly. Not much of a wait at all. We felt like MG met our expectations and the food was tasty. We had a great experience and...
