A True Gem Blooming in the Heart of Kernersville!

The Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden is an absolute treasure nestled right in historic downtown Kernersville. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you're transported into a world of stunning horticultural beauty and serene tranquility. It's hard to believe this meticulously curated seven-acre paradise exists just a stone's throw from the bustle of Main Street!

What truly sets Ciener Botanical Garden apart is the incredible diversity packed into its space. With over 15 distinct themed gardens, every turn reveals a new delight. The Pattern Garden is a showstopper, particularly during the "Spectacular Tulip Bloom" in spring when tens of thousands of tulips, daffodils, and other bulbs create an unforgettable tapestry of color. But the beauty doesn't stop there; throughout the year, this formal garden transforms with vibrant seasonal annuals.

Wander further and discover peaceful retreats like the Japanese Garden, marvel at the unique design of the Moravian quilt-style Kitchen Garden beds, or explore the fascinating textures of the Xeric Scree Garden and Hillside Rock Garden. They even have dedicated spaces like the Discovery Garden, highlighting the importance of pollinators like the Monarch butterfly with native milkweed displays. It's clear that immense thought, care, and passion go into maintaining this garden. The plantings are unusual and inspiring, showcasing plants that thrive in the Piedmont region while also surprising visitors with tropical displays and impressive container arrangements. The design, a collaboration between renowned landscape architects, feels both grand and intimate.

Whether you're an avid gardener seeking inspiration, a family looking for a peaceful outing (ask about the scavenger hunts!), or simply someone needing a beautiful escape, the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden delivers. It’s a place of education, beauty, and pure enjoyment, open daily for self-guided strolls from dawn to dusk. Don't miss the charming Welcome Center and Gift Shop during weekday hours. Often called one of the Triad's best-kept secrets, the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden is a must-visit destination that truly enriches the Kernersville community and delights visitors from near and far. Prepare to...

I recently booked my wedding at your venue and the place is honestly beautiful and a great place to have a wedding. The most unpleasant aspect was dealing with the customer experience specialist, Diana Day, in charge of the venue. She did not provide a great welcoming environment and when she was asked questions by my family members she was sarcastic and rude. She also demanded additional cleanup after my servers for the wedding were doing a great job cleaning before the expected time, as if they were like others she has experienced from past events. A lot of my family members were not happy with Diana’s demeanor. I asked her throughout the event if everything was alright and she said yes. I hope this review finds her well. Someone has to escalate this customer experience nuance, especially if you are paying your hard-earned money. Finally, Diana, I recommend you to be much more customer-friendly and vendor-friendly without talking down to NO...

So much to look at! The perfect place to visit with kids, friends, a date, or even just for a peaceful stroll alone. So much beauty and joy in this gem of a place. The Japanese garden is my favorite, with several surprises! I came here with 7 ladies from my garden club and we all saw several plants we had never before saw! There is a little waterfall and even nice little benches to sit and rest or relax along the way. Several of the trails or walking paths were cedar chips and very hard for me to push my stroller. I think it would be hard for someone in a wheelchair to navigate many areas of the garden, but there are some areas that are accessible, just not the whole thing, and I would say, the larger part of it. This would be the perfect spot to spend reading a book peacefully or for the...

This was my 1st time visiting the garden, but it will not be my last. This is a beautiful gem nestled in the heart of Downtown Kernersville. While it's a bit early for some of the blooms, the scenery is breathtaking nonetheless. There are trails that meander and weave throughout the garden. Wonderful place to visit for an afternoon stroll, leisurely reading spot or just to escape the hustle and bustle. Great daycation retreat. The staff and friendly and they have facilities to host any type of event/meeting. Which is a bonus for me as an Event Coordinator, I'll definitely recommend this place to clients/guests. Looking forward to going back later this spring/summer with my family.

I seriously downgraded this lovely spot because the only spot for parking, a lovely newer lot surrounded by beautiful plants was sealed off for parking. How would we know if the garden is resplendent in color, fragrance, shape, etc. Talk about a disappointment after driving three hours just to visit Kernersville - to be told we couldn't park there because there was an event - when no other spaces were available. I know facilities work hard to try to monetize their space - and I'm OK with that. But the parking lot? Outrageous! Especially since there is no other entrance into the gardens that we could find. Not a fan for turning us away at the door!
