I would like to start this with the “STORE” itself is “4 STARS “ Lots of goodies ! You do have to check yourself out , which is no big deal. Everything is color coordinated and very affordable. But with that being said .. I am EXTREMELY upset with several different things that happened while I visited this store, I would have Liked to have been greeted when walking in. Even a Hi welcome in would have been nice. It was about 4 workers in the front, so would have really been nice to here someone speak to you. As I walked around the store and passed several people still no one says anything. Especially given this is a new store in town, but maybe this is how it Goes. I went to see the Christmas decor and heard a lady telling (more so demanding one of the employees ) to move something to a different spot. Then she went and said DO IT NOW! Very RUDE. And to make matters worse she did it on the floor in front of people. I feel very sorry for the person who she yelled at! It was Very UNFORTUNATE and not professional behavior under any circumstance! The young lady was She was a “woman “ of color, and the Manager and all the other people working was not . Then the Lady went around the corner with another employee and started talking about the situation and she rolled her eyes. I watched her, as I walked around the corner she looked at me ,and started to walk to the wall and asked “politely the lady which she was gossiping with to move things IN a much nicer TONE then she did the First Lady ! Disappointed !! I then proceeded to walk to the employee and asked whom The manager was over this store ? She then pointed to the lady beside her and said this lady here Sara”. To the young woman who “Sara the Manager “ spoke to in such a way which was not appropriate I wish you the best. One day you will be SARA’s boss. Keep your head up and don’t let anyone speak to you as if you were less then them NO MATTER WHAT. To the owner of this store you really need to check WHO you hire. I’m glad this post will be seen by 2.7 million people who have already supported me...
Read moreThis store is similar to Dollar General or Family Dollar except in my opinion the prices were more reasonable.
I visited the Popshelf in Killeen, Texas. I'm very fortunate that they are building one in Austin, Texas where I live. It will be about 10 miles from me. The store had kitchen items I haven't seen before in other stores of it's caliber.
They have food items, makeup, toys, cleaning products, etc. I recommend people visit a Popshelf store. I purchased some items that were, in my opinion, reasonably priced. There were items I'd never seen in other stores.
For instance, I purchased some 50 piece puzzles that fit on my TV tray. I love doing puzzles but I only have room for 50-100 piece ones. They also had travel items like toothbrushes, medical creams and other items for $1-$2. I'll be glad when the store near me opens January 2023.
2/9/23: The Austin store is open. I've already been to it twice. They have a great selection of items. They have a good selection of Valentine items now. So they'll be carrying seasonal and holiday items. Their prices are very reasonable and mostly inexpensive. You really have to go to a Popshelf to see for yourself what all they sell.
6/10/23: I went to the Killeen store today. They had a lot of new items especially July 4th items. I love the selection of writing pens that they have and their writing paper and stationary. They have a great selection of office supplies especially for the home, kitchen items galore and makeup and party supplies.
The employees are super nice and friendly. They're so very helpful. I will be going back soon to see what they have. Their prices are...
Read moreI love this store and everything in it as well as the prices. However, every single time I have tried to cash out, there was a problem that the employees couldn’t fix. First, I rang something up that called for an employee to approve/enter in the price to the POS because it was a discounted item. But the entire store was empty (of employees). I walked around (the entire store) to find an employee twice. Finally someone came from the back and began stocking merchandise. I asked them if they could help me and they asked me to wait for them to finish what they were doing. I assumed it was a one time thing. The next time I came, when I checked out, the receipt didn’t print because they put the printer paper in backwards. I’m familiar with that problem so I showed them how to switch the paper around so it could print properly. Then several employees spent literally 10 minutes trying figure out how to print the receipt and I just ended up leaving without one. This last time I tried to pay with a gift card. They could not figure out how to do two separate cards so I was never able to use my gift card which was the entire reason I came. Several employees tried. I ended up just putting it all on my debit card. I believe they need to get better training on the POS systems so they can do simple things like print a receipt and do multiple payments (cards) for one transaction. It’s honestly very frustrating. If they would have let me, I could have probably figured it out. They need to take some time to learn the POS...
