Anytime Fitness — Local services in Killeen

I enjoy the convenience of being a member of a gym that is open 24/7 in a great location. I like the idea of having individual bathrooms with showers which allows for tons of privacy. The prices seem somewhat reasonable as compared to some gyms (you will not pay Planet Fitness fees here.) There are TONS of cameras everywhere except the bathrooms and they even have Life Alert necklaces for those times you fall and can't get up. The eclectic style of music is also pretty decent if you forget yours. The owners and management team are courteous and are available to address concerns which is the reason I gave the gym 4 stars.

The reason I didn't give 5 stars.

It would be awesome if the maintenace fee required twice a year would actually go towards maintaining the equipment. The newest machine added to the gym last year, the leg curl machine, is already unsafe to use because the pad where you secure your leg is loose/broken 😯. The ankle straps have also gone missing. Some customers do not rerack the weights, despite notes placed around the gym, so you will spend a few minutes reracking at times (extra calories burned so that could be a win ☺).

My biggest pet peeve is SANITATION. There have been too many times when I've arrived at the gym and there were NO sanitation wipes in any of the stations. Sometimes you can see sweat or grease stains (YUCK) on the seats of the machines. Even though management instructs customers to take one wipe, you really can't if you utilize multiple machines and you're being considerate to the next user. Due to seeing others use a machine and leave without wiping (when wipes are present) causes me to wipe before and after using it.

My overall experience with Anytime Fitness was absolutely fantastic. The gym itself is well-maintained, equipped with a wide variety of machines and free weights to suit all fitness levels. Whether you’re into cardio, strength training, or functional workouts, there’s something for everyone. The cleanliness and organization of the space stood out, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all members.

What truly set this gym apart, though, was the exceptional atmosphere created by the staff, especially Mr. Abel. From the moment I walked in, he made me feel incredibly welcome and valued. He greeted me with a friendly smile and took the time to ensure I was comfortable with the facilities. His knowledge and willingness to assist with workout advice or answer questions made my visits enjoyable and productive. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about the members and their fitness journeys.

The community at Anytime Fitness also adds to the positive experience. Fellow gym-goers were respectful and supportive, fostering a motivating environment. The 24/7 access is a huge plus, offering flexibility to fit workouts into any schedule.

Overall, Anytime Fitness, with Mr. Abel’s excellent service, makes the gym experience not only rewarding but something to look forward to. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming and professional...

My mother wanted to sign up for this gym......so we went..got there at 120...no one was there to help us. The sign said "be back at 130" so we went to dollar tree next door. Came back at 132...,he's still not there. Another woman showed up as well to try an join. She knocked and a member answered. He was unsure where Louis (or something like that) was. We waited until 155 for him. Nothing. A guy came in and said he had been there 5 times to try and drop his membership as he'd moved to a gym closer to home. They make you drop in person. No one has been there any of those times, even coming at different times. The gym looks nice, equipment looks great. The concept is nice because it's locked and badge in only. However.....there needs to be staff available to sign up and let people go without waiting all day.if you sign says back at 130...be there.
