Rude customer service. Unorganized. Never fails, always out of some general item needed.
When I came in today there were two lines reserved for regular check-out (clerk checkout) that were exceptionally long, and one, much shorter, line reserved for "self-checkout". The lines were labeled as such. Since I did not have much in my cart, and because I was in a hurry, I stood in the self-checkout line. After waiting a good 5 minutes in the self-checkout line a large woman came up to me and said, verbatim, " You need to get out of this line and go stand in the line over there (pointing to the two long lines for regular clerk checkout)."
I ask: "why is that?"
Lady responds: "because this line is for 10 items or less."
Confused, I say: "I thought I was in the self-checkout line?"
Lady said: you ARE, but it's only for 10 items or less, and by the looks of it, you are over that number."
I ask: "Is there a sign I missed stating that the self-checkout line is 10 items or less, where does it say that?"
Lady replies: "That's what we're here for, (pointing to herself and another worker that was just wandering around the front of the store, not advising anyone who gets into the self-checkout line about the item limit).
As the lady dismisses me from the line, I reply: "This information would have been useful 5 minutes ago when I got into this line and when the other lines were shorter, or you could have a sign posted informing guests of the 10 item limit to avoid the confusion altogether."
Lady shrugs her shoulders and walks off with the attitude she arrived with when she first approached me.
The clerk that checks me out, hardly acknowledges me, and doesn't bother to help put my items back into my cart, just stands there staring off into space while I get my items in the cart and pay. So strange.
This is not the first time I've experienced poor and rude customer service at this location. The large blondish woman at the front of the store could use some people skills and a customer service refresher. I try not to shop here, but today it was just for convenience. I will be sure not to make this...
Read moreI have been a target customer for years and I have never had a bad experience until today. I walked to the register area and I didn’t see anyone at any of the registers so I decided to do self check out. While I was scanning my items the screen displayed a message stating “ help is in the way” indeed a target employee got to where I was and his first word were “ let me guess you scanned too many items” and I said “ I’m not sure, this message just displayed” he then says “ there’s a sign there that says no more than a certain amount” he was very rude and I felt a little uncomfortable but I just apologized as I didn’t see the sign. So I continue scanning and and the last item I got was a set of plates, the sleeve in which the plates came in came off and since the plates were heavy I left the plates in the scanning area next to where I was and I scanned the barcode on the sleeve. Since the plates were too expensive I decided to void the item. I once again needed assistance for this. As the same employee is walking my way I can see his annoyed face and the first thing he rudely says is “what now, too many items again” and I said “no, I need to void this item” he then says “ omg did you really remove the sleeve off the plates” and I said “ oh it came off” and he questions me “ it came off” and I say “ yes, the plates are there”(pointing to the plates) and he raises his voice and asked “ the plates are where, if you don’t know the price there’s a lot of price checkers all throughout the store. You don’t need to wait to get to the register to check the price”. I felt extremely disrespected and I was extremely mad but didn’t say anything because there was a big line and I didn’t want to cause a scene. I once again apologized, completed my transaction and left. That is no way to treat a customer. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I will never return to this target. I did not get the persons name but He was a tall blonde guy. There weren’t many employees at...
Read moreI’ve been shopping at this Target for years—my niece has literally been coming here since she was six weeks old. But last night was upsetting enough that we’re rethinking that.
We had just arrived and were looking through the discount bin when an employee in a blue shirt came toward us with a broom. She was visibly irritated and extremely rude about us being in her way—even though we were doing nothing wrong. My 7-year-old niece, who usually loves this store, was confused and upset, saying, “We come here because people are nice!”
Later, I calmly approached the employee and asked if she could be a little kinder in the future because her earlier behavior had upset the little one. Instead of responding professionally, she mocked me, made faces, and said “I don’t work for Target!” in a sarcastic tone. Totally inappropriate and shocking behavior for someone representing the store in any capacity.
As we were leaving after shopping for nearly an hour, the same employee was vacuuming the exit path right as we approached. My niece whispered, “I find it suspicious she’s vacuuming right where we have to walk.” That’s how uncomfortable this woman made us feel.
We choose where to spend our money—and we’ve always chosen this Target. But after this experience, we’ll be...
