La Mesa Rainbow Stairs — Attraction in La Mesa

Yet more stairs to explore! The much newer La Mesa Rainbow Stairs located at 7314 Stanford Ave, La Mesa, CA 91942 are about 1.5 miles away from La Mesa's Secret Stairs. At this staircase, you will delight in each different colored step. Steps are painted in vibrant, bright hues. This project was completed in 2018 by artist Magdalena Noriega. The ascent begins at Yale and Stanford, rising to West Point. This area is lower with less curves than the main Secret Stairs and street parking is more abundant however Highwood Park at 4200 Parks Ave., La Mesa, CA 91941 is still a nice parking area especially if you want to hit up both spots. Additionally, Sunset Park along 70th is a good street parking area that keeps you out of residential parking and is only a few extra steps to the steps. Just be careful crossing any of the bigger streets, especially University if you’re doing both the Mt. Nebo and Rainbow steps. It’s a fairly fast, multiple lane road.
