Iāve shopped at this antique shop several times while visiting a friend, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing. I spotted a bookshelf I loved, measured it, and then went back to the house to measure my car. The staff kindly held it for me until I returned before close. Based on my measurements, it appeared it would fit.
When I came back to purchase it, a friend and I tried to load itābut it turned out to be just a few inches too wide for my carās opening. I politely asked to return it (having purchased it only five minutes earlier), and was absolutely shocked when they refused, showing zero empathy or flexibility. Their only solution was, āwe can hold it for you.ā I explained I had no way to get it home and that I live two hours away, but the staff showed no compassion at all. With no other option, I had to leave it behind at the store.
My friends and I couldnāt recall seeing any visible signs in the store stating āall sales finalā before purchaseāit only appeared on the receipt. We also noticed the fine print stating they charge $1 per day after 14 days if the item isnāt picked up. I was preparing to dispute the charge with my credit card company because it truly felt like I had no way to retrieve what Iād paid for.
Thankfully, some wonderful local friends went 2 hours out of their way to pick it up for me with a larger vehicle. Iām glad I ended up with the shelfābut only thanks to their kindness. The store, however, was completely unhelpful and showed no empathy. I wonāt be back. Theyāve lost a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe hopes of going to an antique mall after not having gone antiquing for a few months was exciting to my family and I. When we walked into the store we saw a few customers and what looked like quite a large selection of items. We were hunting for very specific items, but was actually disappointed with the selection they had of the item we were looking for. Not too much of a problem, because hunting for uranium glass is a hit or miss endeavor. Most of what we DID find was very common and not very unique. There was however, a nice set of UG goblets downstairs. I was excited until I looked at the price. For the goblets I found, they (the item's vendor) were asking for way too much over what they were actually worth. We've been hunting for UG for a long time, and are good at calculating an item's worth. They were asking $58 for a single goblet. $58 is even too much for a set of 2 of the goblets. Nonetheless, we walked out with some impulse buys, but was left underwhelmed. C'est la vie. Some may actually love this place, but for our personal experience here, it just wasn't what we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve never been treated worse in an antique shop from the point I walked in until the issue being a physical copy of my sales tax ID. Not friendly and treated me with absolute disdain even before a sales tax ID was discussed. I have all my information stored in my phone and even offered to send it over once I returned home. Iāve never had a request for a physical copy of which hangs in my store front and doesnāt get carried around. I run a very successful vintage shop in Michigan. I canāt fathom treating my clients this way everā¦that combined with the absolute mess this place is with things piled in the middle of the store. I could never recommend a stop here. Save yourself some time and go anywhere else but here. I was about to spend $800 and...
