Arrived at 12:15, and left at 4:30. Probably only swam 1 1/2hrs the total time we were there. We would swim for 20mins and then told to get out for 30-45 mins at a time. Toddlers screaming out of confusion trying to run back in the water while parents struggled to calm them down. Everyone literally confused with no explanation whatsoever. I finally went and asked one of the life guards what’s the standard schedule and why are the breaks longer and more frequent than usual today. He said it’s swim 50min, and then a 10 min break. However, that day he said supposedly somebody bled in the pool 3 times and when that happens, they have to shock the pool and that can take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. I personally never saw anyone bleed in the pool, let alone back to back 3 times? All the young lifeguards were wandering around laughing with each other and not once did anybody have the common sense or decency to make an announcement to people so we’re not just standing around like idiots confused. I used to love, bringing my kids here over the years, but unfortunately, we will not be returning. I’ve had a few friends who went recently and had the same experience. Please do not bring your toddlers here because they will be so upset because they can’t get in. On top of that, I felt bad there was a long line of people waiting outside to get in, and for what? Poor people waiting in the heat just to come in and be told they can’t swim. All that waiting...

Read moreI rented the wave pool for 3.5 hours, at the rate of $125/ hour, for my son's graduation party. During that 3.5 hours the power went out 4 times, for a total of 50 minutes, during which time no one could go into the pool because the lifeguards couldn't see the swimmers very well. Fair enough.
I just got off the phone with the La Porte Rec Center, where you rent the pool, asking for a refund for the 50 minutes that we could not use the pool, since it was due to their mechanical/power failure. They refused to give a refund. All they offered was a one day pass to the pool which is worth considerable less than the time we lost.
I don't need, nor want, to spend more time at the pool. I want them to refund the money that I paid for the 50 minutes that we were not allowed to use the pool. Although that still wouldn't make up for how the power failures killed the party. After the 2nd power failure hardly anyone went back into the pool.
And then to receive this kind of bad customer service just tops it all off. No refund for your own failures. Not good!! We'll never go...
