Came to write a review after my experience here today and wow, look at the reviews already. All I will say is this. Another woman in front of me was there complaining about an issue when I was in line. The staff was very unhelpful, they told me a wrong price on a shipment to china (around 80$ is what I was quoted. Good thing I had done my research online first because I had to pull out my phone and show him the true price on the USPS website which was 31$. I showed him the website after vigorously trying to convince him that he was way over quoting me. Then I asked another question and he said "well it's not like it's common sense or anything" in a sarcastic manner. That's all he said. I was always taught that the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. The question was referring to the address format I was using for China. If you think it's common sense, look up some Chinese addresses. The bottom line is that these negative reviews are adding up at this location for a reason. I have more to say but this review is already far to long. Maybe one day someone will take care of this. I'm also tired of receiving many packages addressed to someone else and having my packages getting lost.
Update 8-22-2017: My package I sent was supposed to arrive in China within 7 days. It has now been over 2 weeks and the package is lost. When Tracked, it says that it never left this post office location. My theory is that the men who work here read my review and didn't ship it. Read moreI live in La Porte and usually use the post office in Deer Park because it is close to my job. However today I went to La Porte because it is closer to my house to return an item. I had some questions and was not really sure how to proceed forward with the return (I usually deal with ups, wonderful people). The clerk basically told me that I needed to have the package ready before I got into line. I said I was not really sure how to do do this and he said before you get into my line and dismissed me. I was irritated because be offered no guidance or assistance so I told him thank you for all your help. As I walked off he mocked me to the only other customer in the place. I left because one the interaction was very rude and unwelcoming and two the man made fun of me while I was still in the building. I will save my return for a day when I can go in to a post office where the employees are nice, helpful, and not dismissive. Read moreThee worst USPS in America by far!!!! Several times, I had to check them on when my package should arrive. When your website shows 'out for delivery' and then your package shows up the next day.....I'm sure you will be upset as well. This happened more then several times. I had to check the actually carrier that lied to me saying "it was in your mail box the whole time". Dude looked me in the eyes and said this. I was very close to man-handling him. The people that work there are horrible and most of them suck-at-life. They have a easy job and suck at it.
There's a black lady that works in the back and I don't think she's getting her daily dose of "vitamin D". Some days she's ok and some days she comes off like your call doesn't matter to her. I'm sure they have some that are great workers but I have not...
