Dollar General — Local services in La Porte

This Dollar General has provided the worst service I've ever encountered. Have had countless horrible experiences there and if it wasn't for the lack of shopping choices in that specific area along with my schedule, I'd of never gone back after my first visit.The staff, at this time, is the worst I've ever encountered anywhere. They've cost me nearly 100 dollars because of an error from one of their employees during one transaction, and then during another transaction on a later date, a different employee was ringing up my items incorrectly; charging my card incorrectly and when I asked about it they became very hostile in a weirdly unreasonable way. It didn't make sense and then even acted like they were going to get physical with me and started threatening me. I'm sure there was something else going on behind the scenes that may make that irrational and aggressive behavior she portrayed make more sense but bottom line, I don't really care. Nearly every visit, I've encountered numerous issues, mainly from the staff but also in how poorly they keep their items stocked and organised. If you can avoid this Dollar General, I strongly suggest you chose somewhere else to shop. Sidenote, the manager is friendly, she just doesn't manage her store very...

Clean, not busy when I do go in ,they still had a lot of boxes and items in the aisles every single time I am in there.. I wish they would do more to keep it up and keep this done.. Every time I go in there the ladies are talking and in the office as if they have nothing to do.. I hate using self checkout and they watch me and never come to ring me up and I out , but this one young guy is really busting his butt getting stuff done.. This is one reason I have stopped using Dollar General because I have to work to check myself out..They get paid to do...

I truly respect this store during this storms of snow and ice. Snow, Ice or Hurricanes will not slow them down. Even tho they were blacked out no lights, not sure of water, the old way was what I ran into here, the ole calculator. From the time you step into the store until you leave friendly staff. 1 person at a time but you was escorted to get what you needed. If I lived here I would pay it forward to them with a hot meal and drinks. Love...
