We had our wedding reception at this venue in May. It is a beautiful venue and nothing can beat the price. However, unfortunately, on the day of the event, the sound mixer that controls all the sound output went missing (someone that works there was probably renting it out on the side to make some money). We (including our DJ) had met with someone from the venue a few times before our event to make sure that the DJ knew how everything was set up so that he was prepared for the event and knew exactly what to bring. The DJ even showed up early before our event on Saturday to make sure everything was in order and we communicated with the venue coordinator when he would be there. However, no one was at the venue to assist him when he arrived and the room where the large sound mixer was kept was locked. We all tried calling their after-hours hotline (since it was Saturday and the main office was closed) to get someone to stop by but no one was responding (they ended up calling me back about a week after the event which is super frustrating). Someone finally showed up less than an hour before our event was scheduled to start and when they opened the room, they found that the sound mixer was missing which was extremely frustrating since at that point he couldn't bring in his own equipment and we essentially had no music. They had no clue where it was and offered no alternatives. The DJ luckily brought some cables that allowed him to connect to an announcements line but the sound was super low and we were not able to have an open dance floor. This whole ordeal was super stressful and frustrating. Even throughout the wedding planning, it was very difficult to get in touch with the venue coordinator or anyone from the venue. You will have to send multiple emails and they respond a month later and never pickup their phone. If you plan on having an event here, just know that even though the price is great, you get what you pay for. I would strongly suggest asking to make sure they actually have the sound system they promised because it is not an issue you want to deal with the day of your event. All the venue offered us afterwards was a half apology and half an explanation that this does not...
Read moreThey did not serve the food we selected. There Photographers we used were in a hurry to leave. They left early, and did not capture most of our family and friends. We never got the photo both photos. Organizing everything with them did not go well. Getting our deposit back was not easy. There were things that were taken. Finally they were able to locate them. However, if we were not persistent, they would have never returned our missing things. The Photo Both did not work at least 80% of the night, but we were still charged. This is not a good place for an event for your money. Too expensive for...

One of the oldest and best is Sylvan Beach Pavilion. The quality of the events depend heavily on the event planner and the attitude of those throwing the occasion, of course. That said, from its spacious interior to its gulf view of sailing ships and vessels, to its expansive deck and pier, Sylvan Beach Pavilion offers unrivaled beauty, ambiance, security, and clean accomodations.
I've been to three separate events there so far, and every...
