Bassett Park — Attraction in La Puente

Giving this one a three star because while it is a good park I feel they may be understaffed for all the attractions they have. They have a water playground a regular playground a soccer field and a couple skate ramps (used to have rails but they’ve long removed those and these ramps are no good most, although most people in la puente won’t care I’m giving you all the info) and gym with a basketball court and on most days that I have been here it has been unsupervised I even got into a fight with an older man here once so yeah definitely understaffed and I feel somebody needs to be around to make sure the kids are safe, mind you I’ve been coming here for years and the fight that took place was when I was still well underaged and the park remains under the same management...

It's been 4 years since my two ⭐⭐ star rating of Bassett Park which was during the pandemic.. today Bassett Park gets a five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating.. first thing I noticed was there's no more skate park.. now there's a full court basketball ball court, looks fabulous, one of the soccer fields looks freshly manicured .. great park for family gatherings , special occasions, barbecues , birthday parties..for the kids there's swings , slides and a large playground also a water park absolutely nice for the kids . Clean public restrooms, plenty of parking.. across the street is the Vineland swapmeet open daily.. the curbside in front of the park you can purchase food from lunch trucks and vendors.. great...

I absolutely love this park. During the summer they run a free Parks After Dark program on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, they also serve lunch to the kids during the summer and an afternoon snack all year round. There is a teen center there that offers teens all kinds of opportunities. There is a shaded splash pad, playground, exercise area, grills and a small skate park. There is also a soccer field and other classes for all ages even a senior center, activities and events throughout the year. There is plenty of shade and it is right across from the Vineland Drive-in so you can catch a movie after your day...
