Hacienda Aquatics — Attraction in La Puente

I’ve been going to Hacienda Aquatics for about two years now, and the team here has always treated me right. Bob is amazing—he’s walked me through every step as I switch over from African cichlids to Discus. He takes the time to explain things clearly, helps me make the right choices for my tank, and even keeps track of my progress so I feel confident every step of the way.

I also want to give a big shoutout to the two ladies at the front. They’re always welcoming, friendly, and make the whole experience even better. Whether it’s answering questions, helping with supplies, or just greeting you with a smile, they make you feel like part of the Hacienda Aquatics family.

I've been going here for almost 15 years. They've always been friendly to me and very helpful. I have had many questions answered, even though I have been keeping tropical fish and birds since 1984. People should understand that the main guy working there is deaf. Have patience because he reads lips. If you mumble, talk to his back, or speed-talk at him, he can't hear or understand you. They will special order anything you need, sometimes they will ask for a deposit if it's an expensive item. The store is incredibly hot in the summer because of all the aquarium heaters and the high humidity from all the water. Pat and Mas are the co-owners, and they are very nice ladies. Jacky is one of the workers, and is a very cool guy once you get I know him.

The SW section is a bit sparse, but again, the FW section is one of the best I’ve seen. They also carry koi and fancy goldfish, as well as birds, small rodents.

Prices for tanks, cages and assorted feed and equipment are competitive, since they are not in an area with crazy rent.
