Bayou State Pawn & Jewelry — Attraction in Lafayette

Horrible horrible horrible. Brought in jewelry to sell and the owner basically said it was all valued very low to basically nothing. One of the pieces that I had been having for ten years she said it was fake "heavy plated" gold, she then BROKE it and said it was an accident. I left there thinking it was all worthless, I even asked her if I should just throw it away at which point she said yes..... Took it all to another pawn shop only to find out that the piece she had broken was solid 21k gold (which was written on the piece) and they offered me $1,500 for it for just that one piece of jewelry. That's not including all the other pieces of that I had, which I sold for a pretty penny! These people will low ball you so hard and make you feel like your stuff is worth nothing so you end up just giving it away.

Oh and they were super rude. After she broke my piece she didn't even offer to fix it. After I left and found out it was valuable I called and told them they would have to fix it for me she proceeded to tell me the way I asked was rude and not to speak to her that way. I asked very kindly and they treated me awful. Low class. ZERO stars

DO NOT SELL SILVER OR GOLD HERE!!! The woman who was working the counter during my visit here was very rude, unprofessional and aparently ignorant to the facts of precious metals. I went in inquiring about selling a 1 kilo silver bar. Worth $1765 spot at the time, now don't get me wrong I expected to get less than spot, I know they are in business to make money. Her offer... $750. Are you * kidding me? To make matters worse, after I politely refused the sale, she made the remark "Well if you want some rediculous price for it, you are wasting my time." I wasn't there to get a loan, I was there to sell 1,000 grams of pure silver with a johnson mathey stamp on it. I found a place in Laffy called gold exchange. I sold that kilo silver bar to a very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman there that same day for $1715, just 50c. Under spot....

Would give zero stars if possible. Don't waste your time here. I've had brand new electronics get refused because of a non existent remote. Had a $200 air humidifier get turned away because of a remote that doesn't even come it with it. Also witnessed a man with a brand new baby stroller get turned away because of a literal dot sized stain. The stroller's tires still had a perfect tread to them. Yet they gave some junkie $60 for a piece of metal that I witnessed him dig out of a trash can. I've seen this guy many times there getting $10-50 for any little piece of metal he could find while people with actual valuable items get turned down for bs like a remote or for the...
