I have never left a review for any restaurant before, so to take the time to do it really says something. It’s Ramadan, so I’m fasting. I was really wanting some Chinese food. I haven’t had any good Chinese food since I’ve come to Louisiana (Texas girl). I heard China 1 has fast service and that their food is fresh. I went with my friend about 15 minutes before it was time to break my fast. I put in a large order and our food came out three minutes before it was time to even break my fast!!! Wow! And the amount of food. I didn’t realize the amount of food they serve you. We got three different appetizers (Shrimp Toast, Chicken Dumplings, Crab Cheese Wontons), a large order of Lo Mein, large white rice, and the ‘Chef’s Suggestion’ (Walnut Shrimp and Dragon & Phoenix). I eat with my eyes, and having been fasting all day everything just sounded so delicious. My friend and I started eating. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. The chicken was nice and juicy with just the right crunch, the walnut shrimp had huge pieces of shrimp, smothered in a delicious honey/pineapple sauce and topped with candied walnuts, the vegetables were crunchy, the rice was cooked to perfection, the lo mein noodles were the right kind of soft and savory and not too heavy on the sauce. The sides were mouth watering. The shrimp toast was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, the wontons were creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I have to tell you. My friend and I SHARED the lo mein and rice and despite delving into the order and serving ourselves generous portions, we found that the rice and lo mein remained quite full. It didn’t even seem like we had eaten from the lo mein. I am shocked by the amount. I have enough for today, that’s for sure. This is by far my new favorite Chinese restaurant. Better than any Chinese restaurant I’ve had in Texas even. And the family is very friendly. I felt very welcomed and the sweet lady did not hesitate to clean my chair after I clumsily spilled my plate of rice all over it. Thank you for a wonderful...

Used to be 5 stars EDIT: Since the owners arrived back from vacation in July 2024 the food has steadily changed from amazing taste and large portions to terrible tasting and smaller portions. It's very disappointing. Tonight was the worst hot & sour soup I ever tasted. It was like flavored snot. I had to throw it out. It was inedible. Everything my family ordered was pretty disappointing. The woman who used to be behind the counter always took care of if my family. Now there is a new woman who is rude and unpleasant. I hate to say it but my family has given this place a decent try over the past 5 months to see if it would improve back to what it used to be but it's only gotten worse. I think it's time to find a better restaurant :(
Original Review 4 years ago : This is hands down the BEST Chinese I've had in well over a decade. The prices are great considering what other places charge in the area. You get a lot of food for what you pay. The food was hot and fresh. Delicious! Not greasy. We ordered the mongolian beef with white rice, General Tso with white rice, boneless chicken, crab wontons, hot and sour soup and 2 egg rolls. I nearly cried at how amazing this food was. The white rice is indescribable! Because of covid you call in and pick your order up through delivery partition they have set up at the front of the restaurant. It's really refreshing that a restaurant is taking this seriously when most other places you go some of the employees aren't even wearing a mask or it's down beneath their noses. The order was correct. The food came back to our house and it was still piping hot. If I could give this place a 100 Stars I would. Our family has truly found our go-to Chinese restaurant...
