Rat Pak Venue — Attraction in Lafayette

Just celebrated our daughter’s reception at The Rat Pak. Nick and his team were so professional and eager to accommodate all of our wants and wishes. The venue itself was amazing. Loved the separate room for our cocktail hour. Highly recommend the package where their crew set up and tear down. Reception was Saturday and we left about 1130. Nick sent us on our way. Came the next day and all of the decor was on a few tables for a quick pack up and go. It was an amazing not to have to worry about breaking everything down. Glenda was with us the entire evening clearing tables and waiting on us hand and foot. She always had a smile on her face. Bartenders Britney and Abby were awesome! Quick and always with a smile. Steven worked behind the scenes the entire night and was so helpful. He and Nick saw we had outgrown our dance floor and in a snap of a finger they broke down tables and accommodated our guests. Certainly do not want to leave out Nick. His skills at the turn tables were amazing….felt like we were in a club. He kept the guests dancing the entire evening. He kept the evening on schedule and did not miss a beat. There were around 50 people when my party walked in so we just assumed more people would show up, but more people just kept on leaving. There was little to nothing being done for the sake of maintaining retention and it became increasingly clear that this establishment was fairly shady. When we tried to leave we asked if we were allowed to return without additional charge since we paid for the tickets and there were probably around 5 people left anyway, yet they insisted that there was simply no way to do so. And once new people arrived, the people at the front desk lied that there were 200 people in the rave without even batting an eye. Even from the marketing of the tickets online, it now appears obvious that this establishment is a scam. Every notification about the ticket sales claimed that they were running out of spots and that the tickets were in high demand, yet this state persisted for multiple weeks, and when they supposedly “sold out,” they announced that there was an additional 50 spots added. Never trust this establishment to hold your events.

Can't really speak to hosting an event at this venue, but I did feel compelled to review my experience at their karaoke night.

I've been going to karaoke regularly for 10+ years, and this is one of the most unprofessionally run karaoke nights I've ever been to. I'll start with the cover charge: feels very unnecessary. This is not a club, this is an upstairs room. By my count, there were also five (5) people working - a bartender, the DJ, and three people in the front collecting money at a table. Also unnecessary for the maybe 25 people that were there. There was an 8pm posted start time both online and on physical signage, but despite guests being there (having PAID to be there) and signed up to sing, the karaoke started 45 minutes late. The DJ seemed like a nice enough person, but I was a little put off by the fact that she sang 5 songs in under 2 hours. Again, people have paid to be here and sing karaoke, not to watch you perform and possibly play the saxophone (?)
